The puzzling thing is, that's actually less true now than it ever has been. Chris has non-troll IRL friends now and some sort of social life. So how is he sliding this far into delusion? If Chris were living the life we stereotype him as having, where he literally does nothing but rot in the Hoard, I wouldn't see anything unusual about this, but you'd think contact with the real world would snap him out of it. Do his friends just tune him out and smile and nod whenever he talks?

I mean, I get where you're coming from. By all rights, this is indeed unusual for Chris. Like, the reason people haven't done this successfully in the past is because people either think it's too hard to pull off or they think it's too easy to pull off.

Most people go "ah, Chris wouldn't fall for that" and they don't attempt it. Or they try it, and then Chris calls them out, and then they immediately give up.

OR some people take the cwcki too seriously, and they think that all it'd take is to message Chris and go "lol, hey I'm rosechu, I've got a penis, ama", and then Chris would immediately fall over himself in awe.

Convincing Chris that he's talking to Rosechu right now was not a trivial undertaking. But it's not impossible.

Nah, everyone and their grandma has tried that. They're terrible at it and Chris calls them on their bullshit immediately.

When people troll Chris, he has less incentive to socialize. It's cyclical. Someone trolls Chris as his "manager" for a few months and Chris stays indoors and talks to the manager. Then they get outed as a troll. And then Chris gets lonely after a bit and heads back out. Rinse, repeat.

Yeah, I'm thinking the Rosechu troll and the show tune troll are 2 seperate entities.

They're just two completely different styles of trolling. The show tune troll is a childish, sorta stupid, lazy troll who is paying for easy (and bad) content. The Rosechu troll actually used a bit of work and coersion to get something.

Unless the Rosechu troll is paying for the show tunes just to send Chris some easy money to keep him happy and a bit preoccupied, I can't see any reason why they would do it.

Another difference between now and back then is that back then we could rely on an eventual info dump. The only info dumps I've seen since I started following him again is people who were either mad at him (Doopie) or a bit afraid of us and hungry for the limelight (Son of Hambeast, or whatever the name of the fat girl who hung out with Chris at Ponycon).

I'm not sure what's going on anymore. I pretty much expected the lifting of whole scenes from my comic (despite assurances from Christine that it wouldn't be direct copy/paste), but this bit about Rosechu being transgender is kind of out of left field. We seemed to agree that she has her version of Rosechu and I have mine, so this announcement almost seems like it's being coerced.

This is the last thing that she said:

To Chris, he didn’t copy paste it. He hand drew it from scratch. When Chris said/implied he wouldn’t copy it scene for scene, he meant he wouldn’t literally take photos of your work and use it as his own. Instead he’s just redraw it himself.

@Marvin thank you for explaining how Chris sees sonichu and Rosechu like you did. Comparing them to those people who really believe they’re talking to their dead nana and a pastor really cures people by touch is probably the most accurate analogy for how Chris views Sonichu characters now.

That said.... if someone’s nana came out as trans after they were dead, I’m not sure we’d see a twitter poll asking if we should retcon nana’s life to match her new revelation or leave her as a girl from the start. Would be interesting I think.
