I had this idea last night and have been churning over it. Thought I'd post to see if there's any interest.
I propose we create a calendar of lulzworthy events. It'd have birthdates of notable cows, death dates for the inactive ones, plus anniversary of notable events in lolcow/Internet culture history; the Tonka/Warski non-fight, the Christchurch and couch cuck shootings, the "Gamers Are Dead" articles, Chris's arrest/The Dimensional Merge, the Corn Joke, and so on. The descriptions would include basic info about the event plus a link to a relevant thread on the Farms for finding out more info or commemorating the event: "Birthday of Chantal 'Foodie Beauty' Sarault, perpetually-dieting yet obese Canadian YouTuber and serial dater of African immigrants. https://kiwifarms.net/threads/chantal-sarault-foodie-beauty.36883/"
The calendar would be maintained as an iCalendar file, so you could subscribe to it in your favorite calendar or scheduling program such as Apple Calendar, Outlook, Google Calendar, and many others. The file would be maintained as an OSS project perhaps on https://git.kiwifarms.net so that people could easily submit suggestions for amendments using issues or pull requests (or just use a forum thread I guess).
There's a potential for disagreement about what cows and events are notable enough for inclusion. The calendar might not be very useful if there's half a dozen events every day and most are related to events or people nobody cares about. I guess we'd have to work out some sort of clear list of factors which need to be met before the event could be included.
What do you think? Would you be interested in using or helping maintain a calendar like this?
