Idea Needed: A TRPG Revolving Around Current Year - Spergy TRPG About Spergy People

Make it a TRPG, but where the T stands for Twitter. You get a variety of devastating special skills which can earn you more likes or retweets, and your goal is to reduce the Evil Dromphf's reputation to zero and get him impeached. None of your actions actually affect his RP, and your choice of attacks and strategies does not affect the story at all. The game ends when he wins re-election in the 2020.

This leads to the main 'story choice' that is so popular with gamers these days. You have 3 options after the second inauguration.

1: Shoot yourself in the head to protest the Cheeto in Cheese-ief's policies. Your body is found 3 weeks later and not reported outside of the local news.
2: Try to flee the country to Canada, get turned away by the mounties, freeze to death in northern montana protesting fascist border policies. Body is eaten by wolves, nobody realizes you're dead.
3: Flee the country to Europe. Get raped and killed by a syrian refugee. Twitter virtue signals and calls you 'problematic' and says you deserved to be raped and murdered. This unlocks New Game Plus.

Imma whip out some rule and character sheet when Im still drunk lol
But the Twitter rpg idea seems good
 
Let players choose as the beginning which faction they’ll join between nazis and antifa, and make the meat of the story be about how the two sides war but gradually come to realize they’re not so different until the end when they team up against a greater threat and achieve peace.

What kind of threat are you talking about? Lovecraftian or Orwellian?
 
DnD but it takes place in the Second US Civil War between the left and the right
if you wanna spice things up throw some shit like an alien invasion in there too

Either literally or symbolically the moderate and apolitical citizens who in the minds of the protagonists are guilty of criminal negligence by not caring as much as the heroic extremist groups do. Like present the story like it’s bad to not be an extremist.

You could make a fairly interesting game concept if your party is made up of people trapped in apartments during a brownout. Management of resources like not opening fridges too much and having to deal with inaccessible stairs or something.
