As an actual answer, of course we should treat disorders before they lead to horrific behavior. The problem would be how do you make such a treatment, and would pedos actually choose to get the treatment before they do something awful.

I think part of the reason it hasn't been well studied is because we only really know a pedo is a pedo once they offend. One of the exceptions to HIPAA protection is actually predicated on child abuse.

If we removed them all and kept removing them like a particularly persistent patch of couch grass, eventually we’d have a better society. I have no sympathy for anyone harming children. My sympathy has been burned out these last few years so now any hint of degeneracy anywhere makes me want to get the flammenwurfers. Outright child molestation should be punishable by death. We don’t have the death penalty here any more so life without parole will have to do.
