If You Are Going to Make A Game... - Talks About Your Neckbeardiest Dream Game Here

Basically Civilization, Total War, or Europa Universalis but with a time travel conceit. You select at the start of the game when and where you're going, and who and what is going in your fleet of time ships, then you play through the game like normal. There would be a robust event and NPC system, so you could just use it as a fun exercise in "what would happen if we went back and killed hitler", or as a full fledged 4X game.

A open world superhero singleplayer game where you can choose what powers you have such as flight or superspeed and choose what missions or objectives you want to do such as fighting crime or dealing in natural disasters, you could also choose to be a supervillain and invade the game of other players and become their arch nemesis

I would really like a GOOD game in 40k universe, with massive battles, most of the significant factions and deep customization. I mean, in most of the games chapter means only color of your armor, despite them being unique in their own way. Also I would like some stuff from tabletop to be implemented, like if you get mortally wounded, you can save and if you do it successfully, you get some health back, if not, you die. Also, it would be great if you could actually die in a game, but if you played good, the legend of your warrior will live in a chapter and you will get some bonus if you start there again.

My dream game would be about this gorgeous transient who bangs rich old people on their death beds to get a cut of the inheritance. I’ve always wanted to make a game based on my life.

Maybe a fighting/platformer game where you've been cursed by a sentient book and go on a quest with a demon buddy to stop it from taking over the world?

I'd also like a full blown pc version of tabletop 40k, just so I don't have to go drive an hour just to get a 40k fix. Physical will always be better, but maybe sometimes you just want to chill at home.

Some of my favorite type of games are those like Patrician, Ports of Call, Oil Imperium and Capitalism, mercantile games, it would be fun to make a new one in that mold. It sounds horribly boring but I'm thinking it would start you somewhere in time(1880's-1920's maybe) and play concurrent to the history and events that unfolds, so if you're into something as ordinary as textiles and WW2 starts there will be rationing, foreign markets will be closed off and you might want to compete for government contracts to stay afloat during that time, things like that to change things up.

A game similar to the first castlevania but every room and stage has that fucked pattern corridor before death (2 axe knights and Medusa heads) but it only gets more ridiculous with each stage.

Take the engine of LA Noire and make the game 40 to 45 years after it so it's LA of the late 80's and early 90's, maybe start off as a rookie and everythings like in Colors or the beginning of Boyz in the Hood and then end it as a detective in the early 90's going after a drug lord like New Jack City or a serial killer ala Police Quest IV.

Games I would make?
Megaman Battle Network 7
A Pokemon Mystery Dungeon with the mechanics of Explorers and the QoL of Super
Star Wars Battlefront 2 (2006) scaled up to Battlefield (64 vs 64, huge maps, etc...)
An honest-to-God freeroam big stompy robit game.
And a musou with a DBZ or DBS skin, merging the wonderful feeling of Kamehameha'ing several Saibaman/Freeza Force/Small Buus at once while keeping the big 1-on-1 feeling when fighting captains and whatnot.

A game I actually started writing up, but never finished.
Valkyria Chronicles as written by North Koreans. Taking inspiration from Squirrel & Hedgehog, the plan was to tell the story of soldiers from the Not-DPRK as they start out bright-eyed and eager to serve their homeland in the build-up to all-out war, before slowly realizing the real nature of what they're serving.
References to The Interview, a combat system like a mix of classic Final Fantasy and X-Com, and a narrator who would sound like Ri Chun Hee.

Maybe I should actually go ahead and get back to work on it.
