And be limited to only the data and people within my immediate geography? And presumably, without all the fascinating tech that's only possible with the internet facilitating it? Fuck no. I remember what that was like, and it sucked ass. If I had the power to nuke the Net, presumably I'd have the power to do something less drastic - I'd just kick all the normies off and go back to when it was 95% other nerds and funspergs.

It won't even stop microtransactions. They have them in north korea where most people don't have internet. You just have to go to a licenced store instead and they hook it up.

I wouldn't even stop to think about it. As much as I love watching Alex Jones and interacting with you fellow autists, my life was markedly more anxiety free and happier when the internet wasn't in my life.
 
I would, but not completely. People don't understand how much shit is connected to the internet. I'm pretty sure there's some really vital stuff on there, Imagine if the internet just stopped evolving and new technologies were never created past the year 2000 or so. That's the way I'd like it to be.

Life would have to revert to high school or maybe university, there would need to be a community center to even consider it. I'd assume that would magically nuke all texting too, otherwise what would be the point of the hypothetical.
 
Yes. I would also systematically exterminate anyone with knowledge on how to bring it back. Social media ruined us all.
 
I believe the internet is great as a utility. I wouldn't personally destroy the entire thing. Baby with the bathwater situation. I would snap social media out of existence though. Absolutely worthless ego boosting nonsense. Makes people think they are a lot more important than they really are.

Plus I do enjoy cloud computing and how it's made my life much easier when it comes to doing things between locations. It's so convenient going from home to work and having all of my stuff synced up on both drives without needing to carry flash drives around.
