If you learned that your life was staged in the same way as the Truman Show, what would you do? Would you bother escaping, or would you mess with the showrunners?

Semi-serious related thought, I always found the final dialogue between Truman and the director a bit strange. The movie repeatedly pointed out that a major appeal of the show was Truman's authenticity. Everything around him was fake but he was real. But this realness was completely destroyed when he discovered his life to be a TV show, so why was the director still begging him to stay? The show wasn't over when Truman left the set through that door, it was over the very second he discovered the truth.
>intellectual property makes a lot of money
>reaches its logical conclusion
>everything that made it good ends
>has literally nothing left to offer
>studio keeps milking it anyway

Arguably the most realistic part of the movie.

Escaping is futile and there is no place for people like you raised in a glass house environment.
So the only way for me to behave is to mess with the show out of spite and grief trying to hint to know about the whole situation but not showing it blatantly.
