@CornBogFitz Thank you for making a thread on this. I kept thinking about making a thread about iFunny, but never seem to have the time, espeically since I want to cover some of the many many lolcows on the platform.

The issue is that iFunny is the way it is because of how inside the community acts. The app infrastructure isn't really centralized at all and most of the in-jokes come from "deep iFunny". Its basically just notorious users liking each others posts and making an ecosystem of inside humor. I mean ask you average farmer if he knows who DeepWebIntel is, what an esoteric scrollspost is or what is in the jeffstien rat video and he'll have no idea what the fuck you are talking about

iFunny's structure is unique for social media apps. There isn't a centralized "for you" system where you can doom scroll like a normie forever. There's featured, which literally nobody except normies and Mexicans like (called Feature creatures). Featured posts are AI selected now and are usually literal Facebook/Tiktok tier garbage. Collective really sucks because most posts on the platform are basically spam/bots. The only real way to enjoy the platform is to have already been a user for years and to have cultivated a subscription list of quality posters, who usually repub (i.e., share) each other's posts which forms the backbone of the "deep iFunny." It's a retarded name but it's accurate. There are so many legitimately funny and intelligent users that exist on the platform that basically get smoke screened by the bots and normies. If you just downloaded the app you'd think, yeah this place is full of Mexicans and faggots, without actually ever being exposed to the actual core community. Fascinating really. The normies also helped keep the platform afloat with ad revenue as most actual quality users would use things like Blokada to create an ad-free experience as iFunny has gotten increasingly filled with ads.

Automodding has been a thing for years, but it actually sort of worked out to further deplatform normies and Turd Worlders because they're retarded and could often times not figure out that their post was getting shadowbanned and are just used to getting no engagement on their posts because they're fucking gay. This of course is a targeted attempt to gut the iFunny community and I believe they're going to attempt to astroturf a community imported from twitter/tiktok. iFunny, despite the step up in moderation in recent years really was a last bastion of free speech in social media, you just had to know how to work the system.

I really really need to make at least a partial listing of some of the iFunny lolcows and notable users. iFunny is such a gold mine that hasn't ever been documented before, especially on a site like Kiwifarms.
Maybe other users like @HansFromAceholes can help out? Just a few I can list off the top of my head:

Ferd: Danish lolcow that literally lives in a state run facility for mental patients who posts shit like Family Guy dub videos and graphs of how many times a day he masturbates. The story I heard was that he got sent to the mental facility after his father found him passed out from drugs getting fucked by one of those dildo machine things.

DWI (DeepWebIntel); I believe his real name is Cameron Peck: Lolcow who got his start positing "deep web facts" on iFunny years ago. These days he's most well known for posting legitimate CP and being a chubby chaser. He's also a mixologist! I'll have to find the original video of him making the cringe "panty dropper" drink. He also got laughed at one time by making a video with one of his pet whales girlfriends after a user took a picture of his house, in which he threatened to shoot the photographer with a handgun "loaded with self defense rounds."

Legolewds: Actually funnily enough one of the most "normal/cool" posters, in comments anyways. This user is known for, you guessed it, posting pictures of his lego minifigure collection in provocative poses with each other, including in scenarios depicting rape/BDSM, etc. He's really an auteur in his genre and as far as I can tell has never blow up at any of the users who comment on his posts calling him weird, a loser, a creep, etc.

Sectionalism: Not really a lolcow, more of an honourable mention. Legitimately an extremely smart user with education in anthropology and genetics. He has a substack (https://substack.com/@zeusouranios7). Substack is usually really cringe, but his is free (basically being a repository for longposts that would get banned on neu iFunny and most articles are pretty shorts. He's one of the users recently banned.

ThinBlueLIne: Pretty sure this is an ironic account and not a real lolcow, but I thought of him anyways. He posts "security officer" posts. Basically imagine Paul Blart Mall Cop, where the guy pretends like security guards are basically the same as cops or soldiers in the army because they keep everyone safe. Legitimately a funny account.

Scrollsposters:
Really a genre unto itself. You've probably seen this type of post before, and surprisingly like many internet trends, it started on iFunny. Scrollsposting is basically in other words "schizophrenic elder scrolls posting."
There's really two main accounts in the scrollsposting space: ElfCooker and DovahToor. Usually scrollsposters post other things too, but are known for this specific type of post:

Saboteur/Sam Woodward: Probably the most infamous iFunny user ever. He's currently in prison. Just a week ago, after several years of trial, he was found guilty of murdering Blaze Bernstein. The murder even has its own wiki page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murder_of_Blaze_Bernstein Blaze was a gay Jew who was stabbed to death by Sam Woodward likely after kissing him. Sam is suspected to have been struggling with homosexual thoughts and was involved with "alt-right" political activism on iFunny.
Jokes surrounding this user have been developing for years. Probably the oldest that I can think of off the top of my head is that Sam had promised to do rates (r8's) of other profiles shortly before his imprisonment, a promise that he has not upheld in the following years. Rates, for those not in the know, used to be a trend where users would view their subscribers profiles if they "subbed and repubed" (i.e., subscribed and shared the rate post). This would usually read something like "LordB8er 7/10, too many repubs"
The joke follows that users were still waiting for Sam to rate their profile from prison/when he got released (because of course people also joked that he was innocent). I know of at least one occasion of a user writing to him in prison asking for a rate. I don't remember if there was a response, but he is known to respond to people's letters otherwise.
Another joke related to him was that users would make posts decrying the justice system for holding an innocent man hostage for simply trying to help his friend Blaze after he fell on a knife 43 times.
There's a semi famous video of Sam/Sab with other users Golde (most famous for having a black girlfriend at one point) and Cavalier (I think that was his name) who was gay if I recall correctly. The video was filmed fairly shortly before the murder and featured the trio riding in a convertible and someone pretending to curb stomp Golde's teeth out (anybody remember that gif that got posted around the internet like 8-10 years ago of a Neo-Nazi curb stomping someone? I think it was from a movie, but basically that).

Crike: Not much of note. He's a bot that posts random/semi-random comments on people's posts. He's actually become apart of the community as sometimes his comments are hilarious in the context of the original posts (i.e., sometimes he be cookin'). Kind of a mascot for iFunny. The creator has said he might release the source code to prove that he's a legit bot if it ever gets banned.

Lord Miles: real_lord_miles: He's actually a legitimate user on iFunny and posts unique posts on there he doesn't put anywhere else. He has his own thread on Kiwifarms (https://kiwifarms.net/threads/briti...issing-in-afghanistan-since-march-6th.156384/)

There are a bunch of other users on their that also deserve mentions but I don't really have the time to write about like Colaws (I didn't know this until recently but he has a semi successful YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@Colaws) and his friend Amerikaner who make Regular Show dub edits. PoopMadess, a legit schizo who makes his own pipe guns, Mookie (co-creator of the Fall of Rome video that was posted on here), The_Tards_of_iGUNs, posts screenshots of retarded users' comments about firearms, FatPeopleHat who posts pictures of fat people and how much he hates them, iDoMeth who used to have videos of him legitimately doing meth, and many many others.

He got a really fat girlfriend and talked about paying a stripper in NYC for conversation (There is a popular meme of the stripper on The Walking Dead as a zombie extra getting shot in the dome.) He posted a video of himself on a couch with a drink in hand and fake party sounds from youtube in the background to look cool. Apparently he died to a drunk driver recently.

- Tazandra, a staff member, publicly confessed to having sexual relations with a 17 year old. Ended up banning a bunch of people making fun of her for it.

- There was a user that made a retarded threat to a local air base and got an official notice put out in case he showed up.
- A user went the the ATF Waco memorial and squirted a bottle of piss on it on video.
- The app servers went down when Ruth Bader Ginsburg died because everyone spammed the dancing crab video
- There was a guy named MonarchTrump who was probably clinically insane but he was really good at making a joke of any argument and making funny textposts. Another less-liked user called NoCumBacks was arrested for pimping out a teenage girl in Vegas and MT was implicated so he left the platform forever.

Forgot about these, especially MonarchTrump. I still see his posts reposted here and there but wow that guy was hilarious.

- There was a brief period of time where you could switch to Brazil servers so everyone would go over there to raid it, they removed the option and some people got permanently stuck on Brazil servers.
- Some user made a long, insane essay about why female communists should be raped by horses and dogs in a football stadium and it became a running joke
- iFunny con and the running joke of bringing a firearm

Also forgot about these. I wish I could find the original "dog camp for female communists" post because it was legitimately unhinged and sickening. If I recall the user's name at the time was LifeisBeautiful and now goes by BeuorginaPrincipessa or something Italian like that. He came back under that new name and started posting tradlife stuff like modern homesteader crap like how to grow potatoes in only 5 feet of dirt or whatever.

4chan and KF users both share ideas through textposts but the community on iF comes from sharing ideas through funny media, exclusively. Textpost humor came and went around 2018 and for a lot of people on there a format like KF is too different from the medium theyre used to to migrate here.
Freeze peach is nice and all but theyre kind of already good at skirting the rules to get the idea across anyway.
