I’m from California and want to get out. Which state should I move to?

I’m leaning towards Oregon, followed closely by Nevada or Arizona. I’m also considering Idaho or Texas.

Don’t worry, I learned my lesson about voting for Democrats... Now I intend to vote for based politicians in the vein of John McCain and Mitt Romney!

If you value privacy & keep to yourself, Wyoming and parts of the deep south have appeal; the only issue being many communities small, highly insular, and/or church-based; so without at least a modicum of social skills and something to offer said communities.... good luck. People move to these places and tend to vanish, voluntarily or otherwise.

Parts of Oregon & most of Idaho used to be like that, but not in the past 10-15 years.

Also, Alabama has some of the lowest property tax rates & gas prices in the nation, along with the state-run liquor stores; just forget about anything resembling decent roads or internet in rural areas. The tornadoes are a nice touch also.

As was said, it depends on what you're looking for. Privacy, less government intrusion, cheaper. All have different answers. Also, those are some big states, so different parts of the states have very different environments. Like, just using Texas, what you'll get out of El Paso, Abilene, Waco and Houston is very different.

It really depends on whether you admit to being a Californian; to do so makes you an emigrant, not a refugee.

Real refugees say something like "you wouldn't know/like it" or "I was born in a hellscape, and I ain't gonna die there". Having a 1000yd stare helps too.

If you're actually looking to avoid the bullshit policies that ruined home for you, any west coast state is just 5 years behind California. I include NV and AZ in that list.
If you learned your lesson and won't vote in the same bullshit, Nashville and Atlanta are the lowkey refuges for CA refugees. Otherwise, by all means move to Oregon, that state deserves to be further fucked up.
