Honestly, you aren't the only one who feels this way. & it's not just the Farms. Everyone I talk to is sick of how political bullshit on both sides has corrupted EVERYTHING. Perhaps when things cool down (if they cool down) it'll get better. But perhaps consider taking it out with a bang instead of repeating SomethingAwful's whimper.

You posted a few nothing pictures of me getting together with some friends years ago at a state park while visiting the Islamic Center of Boston and another mosque nearby. That picture of me holding a sticker was me helping a group of people putting together care packets that were distributed at a homeless shelter. I was very proud to have been a part of that.

After reading 50+ pages and thinking some more about, here are more thought for @Null

KF is it a hobby or a business? I spent as much time working for startups as you being alive and I can tell you that lesser ideas have been monetized. It's clear that you have enough members here to pay your costs and support your work. Most startups evolve from initial idea and follow where money leads them to. Many times original ideas are retarded in retrospect and new unexpected opportunities become clear later.

You are def too old to have a hobby that consumes all your life, but work is work, i.e. we do it mostly because we have to. No slave wage or cubicle goblin wanted that life. If you think that getting married will solve your problems, just wait until you have a screaming kid at home, wife and bills to take care of. We work to get money and hopefully it's not total suck. If you could not become a cube slave at 20, you'll have harder time being one at 30. Don't be jealous of trad life, it's not greener.

Like I said, you have legit opportunity for work, why go to China teach English? I suppose I can try making money with some of my hobbies or get a gig at 7/11, but I will never make the same money and faster with my prof career skills, even if I am tired of that shit as much as you do. Make KF your work, raise funds, make a living doing this. This may involve catering to A&H fags, but if that makes money you focus on that. It may be less fun, it may be annoying and sometimes you'll bend over ... just like most trad jobs that you think that you want.

Something else that many founders do is they don't let go. You got to let other people in to help and even let go some of the control. From just past 50+ pages it looks like you have quiet a diverse crowd of people who can help, experience and skill wise.

Payment processors ... I don't know all the problems you ran into or if ever be able to use traditional ones, but at least for now there are ways to move cash. I'm an EE expat and still have family there, I send payments, buy shit and most of the time it's not through bank checks. Again, if there are some things you don't know about, get help from people who do.


The free speech is a big deal and with other platforms effectively closing down, this is an opportunity for you to provide it for people who want to blow off steam or get uncensored news, whatever. Few people don't care to get doxed and get hounded like you have been, use that as your niche advantage. Why go teach English for a pittance and throw away everything you accomplished so far?

But this place had that kind of feeling and in places still does. Unfortunately as you say, lolcows are not as funny as they used to be, or they are normal because a normal social media user in 2020 would be a cow by 2016 standards. Or maybe I've been on here too long.

Chris is currently in the grip of the Idea Guys and isn't producing quality content because some cretins never realised that he was funniest when left alone to his own devices. Amberlynn is too depressing. Wu would still attend the opening of a letter but feels like she's becoming irrelevant. Phil got his bicycle and his stink ditch and there was no way he could improve on that. Yaniv continues to be amusing at times but other than ballwaxgate there's not much actually amusing. Of the cows I have made threads on, Jonathan Bishop seems to have kept his head down, Kevin Allred is now normal for twatter (!), Lauren Harries is also now normal for twatter (!). Danny Glass is also normal for social media now and once he killed his girlfriend there was little he could do to top that.

Thing is, if this went under new management I'd understand. It must be very wearing.

For my part, if this place goes, I'd definitely try to keep the spirit alive. Since joining this place in 2016 (mainly to follow Vordy), I've found myself more willing to not give a shit IRL and more willing to upset peoples' applecarts. Unfortunately as you say, most people just want to be inert little NPCs. They are content to follow the progressive diktats, and so long as they can slack-jawedly gape at Love Island in the evening, crush a few pints of Stella in a Vertical Drinking Establishment, and they aren't starving, they don't give a shit.

I myself think that people have got noticeably stupider in the past 10 years, and I blame social media and the utterly degraded state of Western culture for that. I don't mean that our culture is degenerate because it's full of furries and Drag Queen Story Hour. Those are symptoms. No, our culture is degenerate because it relies on short term dopamine hits and meaningless spectacle over actual quality content with real bite to it or with real thought behind it. Culture is important because it's the glue that holds a society together; a society is its shared stories and shared understanding and its legendry, all of which has a meaning behind it that gives a society its identity and cohesion. But what have we today? Clapping for the NHS, shit reality shows, drinking to excess, and not being racist. That's not a solid foundation for a society. What does Take Me Out or Naked Attraction say about the human condition on a global scale? That we are fucked up and full of shit.

This is why we have Drag Queen Story Hour, anti-vaxxers (despite a global fucking pandemic), the fiction that with hormones and surgery one can become another sex when that is coded in at the genetic level, fat activism, and record levels of alcoholism, depression, and drug abuse.

And anyone and anywhere that dares to call out this degraded excuse for a culture for the stupidity it is, i.e. on here, is an -ist or a -phobe.

They should delete the politics forums every six months and call everyone there spergs, then recreate them a little while later. Just to remind them they aren't in charge.
