Your best bet is to make a new site dedicated to the politics. Sounds monumental but a lot of the politics only fags will go there as long as it has the same level of freedom as they have now. Right now you're dealing with a refugee crisis since every other site with a good format has cracked down on wrongthink, and some people (like me) don't have enough chromosomes to understand chan sites.

I think the Offtopic forums need to be spun off into its own thing. And the lolcow section need to go underground. Archive it and give to someone to keep online. Maybe start a new forum to lolcows. Keep it private and secret.

But at the same time, I don't think the era of lolcows are over. I think the old school ones are gone. Chris is what brought me to the forums but I don't even keep up with him any more. The classic lolcow are gone for the most part. I think the new ones are gonna be the SJW/IDpol burnouts who havent got the memo to move on. Furries still exist and I don't think will go away any time soon. The old school types will pop up now and again, but I think the era of megastar lolcows are over. We'll never have another chris. Been here since 2014 and lurked longer than that, I'd be sad to see the community go but you're the best webhost I've seen to date and I trust that any decision you make is the right one. Even if that's nuking the forums entirely.

Honestly you're right in saying that the community has changed and the site overall is less fun than it used to be. I can't put my finger on it exactly but the shift in focus to more political-based commentary as well as some of the more interesting or lighthearted lolcows leaving us has really had a drastic shift in the overall tone of the site. It doesn't necessarily seem fun or silly anymore, all of the content these days seem to be the absolute dredges of society being exposed or some otherwise vile, vitriolic people having the spotlight shined on them. I miss Chris Chan, I miss John Bulla, I miss TempleOS, I miss all of the silly halal threads we used to have. I don't even read new lolcow threads anymore, I just stick to the small handful of ones I've been reading for years.

Maybe it's time to pull the plug. I'll miss this place so much, but it would probably be for your better interest.

I've always been a firm adherent of the ideals held on this site, especially since laughing at people making fools of themselves on the internet is a time-honored practice as old as the Internet itself. We're not really doing anything here that hasn't been done a thousand times before on just as many websites. The difference is that now, there's a definitive push to end it because sites like the Farms are essentially the only thing that can even pretend to enforce accountability out there. The irony is that in making fun of stupid people doing stupid things, we've exposed actual predators, whether they're serial harassers like Samuel Collingwood Smith or scam-artists like Trans LifeLine.

Pretty much everyone in a position of leadership, on this website, has had ongoing attempts by the Autistic Legion of Doom to fuck with them, in many cases over shit that they had nothing to do with, often dragging their extended families into the line of fire for no other purpose than we dared to not delete unflattering coverage of them. It was Null alone though, that had Greta try to pay him a visit. It was Null alone that bore the brunt of what Vordrak did to his family, and continues to try to do monthly. The people opposing this site are the most petty, selfish, vindictive people on the planet and would sooner burn down the entire internet if it meant covering up their own stupidity for a few days. I've donated to merch runs and such on this website every single time I've had the cash, and I will continue to do so because I still believe in what Null is trying to do here. When Oliver was setting up attack sites against my family members during the Vordrak incident in which the Farms temporarily shut down, it was Null that gave me advice on what to do about it.

It's my belief that the ongoing politicization of the website has mostly happened because of current lolcow trends. There are about 100 productive extreme-left cows for every single extreme-right one, and that's simply due to demographics and the tendency of one side to coddle its worst elements. It sucks, but it'll even itself out in time so long as we maintain our time-honored practice of mocking the stupid no matter where it comes from. The problem is the ongoing political factionalization IRL is going to get much worse before it gets better, and all we really do is hope that when the dust settles we're still standing, while throwing what support we can where we should.

If I have a single issue with this site, it's that the likes of Internet Harvest have brought out the worst sort of hangers-on and they constantly spread their Autism to other threads, and constantly engage in these utterly pointless crusades against one another where they try to score "gotchas" on the ones they don't like while everyone outside that subforum wishes they'd just finish one another off in an outburst of mutually assured Autism and be done with it.

If I have any advice, it's to strategically disengage as needed. The world is in absolute chaos right now and it can be fucking hard to see the way out when you're in this labyrinth of idiocy where you can't even see how you got in and nobody's shutting the fuck up. 1. On family let me tell you as someone in their early thirties, the longing will only get worse. I didn't care about it until my late twenties, but the state of western women is absolutely appalling tbh. Despite being a shitposter of KF I have no trouble attracting women, it's attracting one who is worth keeping around that is the biggest challenge. This is the challenge facing most men of our age at the moment, perhaps being in Eastern Europe you have an advantage over the rest of us?

2. On Freedom of Speech, I have mad respect for you for standing up for what you believe in and keeping KF as a bastion in an otherwise censorious shit time period. 3. On fun, I can't really comment. I still find the farms to be enjoyable so I can't relate, but I do hope you find something you enjoy @Null. I don't know whether appointing more mods would lower your workload, or if nuking the site completely would be a better option. Either way I hope things somehow work out and you can find enjoyment in life with whatever you decide to do moving forward.

I'll miss this place, I lurked a long time before registering, but it's certainly not worth blowing up the chance to have a fulfilling life over. Don't turn into Rich or Alice, and I think Rich especially is a pretty good warning about the quality of woman you will attract as "Null, the infamous Kiwi King".

If you want to be a happy guy with a sane wife and a stable family, you're probably going to have to step away. Water finds its level, and I think it'd be pretty hard for the kind of woman you want to look at your situation and want in. You want a traditional SAHM, she's going to want a predictable provider with the usual skills- cars, tools, lawns, home repair, decent aim, and heck, probably a good idea to learn to train the dog before you get a dog (she'll probably want a nice big dog). It's reasonable for you to want the family you want but it's reasonable for her to want signs of long-term stability before making more people who are going to be tiny, helpless, and apparently determined to kill themselves in inventive ways.
