Is that residential or commercial spec though? Commercial/industrial furniture and fixtures have much stricter requirements, have to be ADA compliant and so on.

Also, they are able to take much more than 500lb, but are rated for 500 to give a comfortable margin of error and liability in case someone like Hambo sits on one.
