She also legit just has astounding body dismorphia. She had that video where she explained she finally "saw" what we saw when she sees herself in a unexpected reflection. I've also seen other people who've discussed weight loss when they reached crazy levels they usually seek reaffirmation that they aren't as big as other fatties they see out in public. And you know the loved one or close person totally lies or lessens the blow about reality. But Hamber believes she is this total dainty flower and that she's not that bad in her mind even as the scale increases. Total disconnect from reality. She'll have like a come to Jesus moment sometimes, like when someone else takes a video of her, or she sees her reflection compared to the rest of the population and she realizes what a beast she is. And she'll cry and feel bad about herself. But then she gets her asspats and brushes away those uncomfortable feelings of responsibility and reality and waddles over to the car so they can get some Golden Corral.

Just remember she thinks 200 pounds is skinny. Her whole concept of a healthy weight is totally warped beyond recognition.
 
Yes Amber, your lips are too small, get some fillers. That's definitely the first thing people notice about you, small lips, not the slowly disappearing neck or the fupa that's hanging closer to your knees everyday.

I didn't see anyone mention this but it's fucking gross to let Becky's nephew stand and sit in the cart. Kids have all kinds of crap stuck to the bottom of their shoes and the next person puts their groceries in there.

I'm more irked by the safety risks of standing in a shopping cart. He's one tumble away from cracking his head open in the toy aisle. Grocery carts are pretty dirty in general, from being brought outside, left in the rain, handled by people who don't wash their hands. Wash fruits and veggies and don't take shit out of the package right there in the cart and you'll be okay.

That kid really needs to be disciplined better. They offer to get him a toy if he sits down and instead he stands and says "I better get two." Great opportunity to explain that he's being greedy and maybe they should even skip buying him a toy until next time, but instead AL just laughs about remembering how excited she used to get when she could buy a toy as a kid. At least Becky made some attempt to correct the child's behavior. So it looks like AL has taken the role of "good cop", forcing Becks to be the bad cop. I wonder how things will go when her nephew starts favoring AL over Becky because AL lets him behave however he wants.

I was gonna ask if we knew for sure when she went into foster care, cos the things she says makes it sound totally po lil Amber clutching her tattered dolly as mindless authorities move her around. Awww, the world's tiniest violin weepeth. The story seems to change depending on what sympathy she's after.

Except....

She put herself BACK into group care when she had a blow-out with her foster family; that's how she and her brother were separated because he chose to stay. And plenty of people are self-sufficient from 16 onwards, they can get married, leave home, work.

The po lil Amber story doesn't work if you shelve the feelz and think about the logic. Yes, the foster system can be shitty, but (if the 15-16 timeline is right) she wasn't in it five minutes, she obviously had a good enough placement that she flounced out of in a tantrum, and she hit it as nearly an adult. And yes, her situation was crappy before but again, context is everything.

Plenty of people have far worse. Entire generations went to war and died on the cusp of adulthood and she's been an adult for four times longer than she was in the system, yet won't take even the tiniest steps to repair this terrible damage allegedly done to her.

All she wants is "aww poor Amber," to be told she is beautiful and has worth, and to have a ready-made excuse for why she's special and is exempt from Adulting. Essentially, she wants us to validate her lifestyle and choices and if we don't, we "don't understand." A poor start gives an opt-out of any agency for the rest of her life? Ok.

Sorry, but I'm going to save the sympathy. Maybe we DO understand only too well.

You know what? You are right. I totally forgot about her super supportive foster family that she had until she was out. The one where allegedly her foster mom contacted her and paid for weight watchers for her. I think they were even supposed to do it together, but after the video of AL telling that story I don’t think that she mentioned it again.

Thanks for snapping me out of it. I was just trying to figure out a plausible reason for her gross immaturity. The truth is that this is Amber that we are talking about and I shouldn’t really give it that much thought.

Ha, don't worry, you're not alone - don't we all get into trying to work out how this massive lump of self-importance was created and how it thinks, when the truth is it doesn't think at all. AL is essentially a gigantic eating machine with rudimentary intelligence which manifests as "muh feelz." That's kinda it. Yet somehow she's fascinating - I guess that's what makes the cows qualify as cows tho - she's bland enough we can project, with enough bizarre personality quirks to maintain interest.

Or....we're a buncha bitches bitching ;-)

She may be grossly immature for the sinplest reason. It works. That straight-for-the-feelz is a very simplistic manipulation tactic and it gets her what she wants; everyone in her vicinity smooths the path for Amber to do absolutely nothing, have no accountability or responsibility, and EVERYTHING gets pulled back to discussing her feels, thereby diverting even innocuous questions.

It's actually amazing but we see it time after time on 600lb Life, where carers will do anything to contain the blob in the bed and avoid its fury. Amber's get-out is that it's not her when she binges, she even said so herself and Becky just nodded. But it IS her, just like "blackout angry" people can usually control it when it suits them to do so. The carer learns to fear the rage....but there's nothing to fear. Just walk away.

She's the ultimate solipsist, has no real recognition of others except in relation to herself, and everything feeds into one issue. Her getting her own way. She DID have one extreme area of neglect; nobody ever said no and nobody ever held her accountable. Imagine what a toddler would be like without those things and essentially, you have Big Al. Complete with screaming tantrums.

that kid is old enough to be walking around, and doesn't need to be in a cart. Yah, it might be nit-picking, but as Kelly said, people put their groceries in there. He also seems to be working ol' Al. "I need 2 toys", while Becky just stands there. She knows Al holds the purse strings, so she doesn't say anything about it.
 
I think she's just immature because she's isolated. She's been stuck in Youtube limbo for I don't know how many years. She has no job, no hobbies that require her to leave the house and meet people, and all she ever does is go to Walmart and the same 2-3 chain restaurants. She also hasn't ever been single in like 10 years, so she's never on her own having to figure things out herself.

How are you ever going to mature if nothing in your life forces you to change? Why bother changing if you get away with shopping and playing with crayons every day?
