I think a lot of the pain comes from the expectation that the times we live in would be fair. I think at some point the disconnect from experience and expectation will become too great for society and large groups of people will flip from thinking of oppressive, authoritarian societies as something that only existed in the past to realizing we're being pushed into one right now.

As @TurdFondler pointed out, it's not even solely about the vaccine itself (though that is very dubious) but about getting the infrastructure in place so that the State can unperson you at the touch of a button.

You are very lucky to have a partner who feels the same way you do, and they are very lucky for the same reason. Too many couples getting ripped apart where one person just wants to submit to authority / believe what they're told; and the other doesn't.

My recommendation is to keep holding out as long as you can. You're not the only one and evidence of side-effects and ineffectiveness is piling up. We don't know what the future may bring. If you do end up having it, don't give into that psychological reaction some people have where they rationalise their giving up as not giving up by suddenly going all "it's not that bad". If you have it, it's understandable - we're all up against tremendous pressure here - the richest corporations, the most frightened and power-hungry politicians. Don't feel you have to flip your position all of a sudden as a way to deal with having given in as one person I know did. But... I hope you don't give in and can continue as long as feasible. This is about so much more than just healthcare (though it is that, too). People have been blindsided by this but they're building the resistance and infrastructure to push back every week.

You Are Not Alone.

Don't think of Canada as being the whole battlefield. Think of yourself as behind enemy lines or in occupied France in WW2. You're in a bad situation but you are tough. My best practical solution right now is to go out and meet other like-minded people. Go to a protest. Join a group. You're afraid of going on a list? Spoiler - you already are. Once you start meeting others, who knows where it will lead but I guarantee it will lift your heart and give you more strength to carry on.

Supposedly it's going to be digital, use QR codes and link to an online database. Which means it should be exploitable in some way (although paper is exploitable as well), especially since it's most likely to be automated.
Don't get the jab and don't stress it too much. You're dealing with the Canadian government, it's not exactly a high bar to overcome.
 
I’m a bit of a tard when it comes to politics so please excuse my autism. And I don’t know if this is the right thread to bitch about this, but man things are getting so shit in my neck of the woods. I don’t know if it’s covid or what. But gas prices are fuck all expensive, the streets are flooded with homeless and meth heads, crime is rampant, there’s stock shortages everywhere you go… Just fuck dude. I hate living in the city in the first place, but I’m too much of a poorfag to leave the city. And this is all happening while the left screams muh pee-oh-cee and muh transjennies, and that’s just making things worse. This has got to come to a head at some point, right? I knew a legit crazy ex marine who kept telling me there was going to be a civil war over this shit. I think that’s a bit extreme, but I could see riots. Hell the left has already rioted over dumb shit. I dunno man. I feel you. Even if you are a canuck cuck.
 
I'd advise against forging anything as it's reasonably easy to find out it's fake and will probably get you sent to a gulag.

So what you faggots don't understand is that Trudeau is pushing an Federal Election and if he wins he will basically force every province to have this vaccine passports, so there is no good safe place in Canada to move. Trudeau will probably win because there are a lot of morons who think that we should just bite the bullet and inject a questionable substance and not have a choice to be vaccinated against something as bad as a cold. Fuck you, not getting vaccinated.

Normally I'd disagree on principle, but @Eton musk has already admitted to being a Canadian with plans of spawning additional Canadians. I 100% support him getting the vax, living in the pods and eating the bugs. Real life, freedom and joyful experiences are for us non-Canadians to enjoy, he doesn't get to have them.

My home town and every other town have been lost to meth heads, murder and shit cops. It's actually awful in Ontario. 2 cites were listed as the worst places to live in Canada. One being my home town.
 
If you don't like Canada, move to Greenland.
