tbh she might be able to start off her relationship with a therapist without doing any actual talking, just give the therapist the link to her YT channel.
 
For someone “diagnosed” with BED, bipolar, depression, and OCD along with crippling phone anxiety plus other anxieties related to things she’s too lazy to do, her horrible experiences in foster care, the “abusive” relationship with Kasey... wouldn’t she find therapy to be a relief?

If you therapist is going to just tell you everything you already know, then why don't you just take your own advice already?
She's so smug and really believes she's smart. AL could not pass a 5th grade math or english test, or any test for that matter.

BUt she knows everything that someone with a masters degree in psychology knows!!!!!
 
Is she buying likes again? It seems like there's a sudden increase in likes vs dislikes the last 2 videos.

ETA: And I don't think the increase in likes is because of her pity party, for clarification. I scrolled through the comments last night and didn't see many ass pats.

I imagine IF Amber goes into therapy we will get a story about how the therapist comes in singing and dancing takes one look at Amber and says, "I can't help you because you're already perfect the way you are. Be yourself and don't ever change!"

Thats why people who are really narcissistic either don't go or don't get any real benefit from therapy. They just talk about how everyone else fucks them over, how everything would be fine if it weren't for various people in their lives, and the therapist will usually validate a person's perceptions of being a victim unless it represents a CLEAR break in reality like being persecuted by aliens or something. I have a feeling AL believes she is perfect the way she is and believes therapy is a way to help her control other people more effectively or to look like someone who is working on their issues. You can sit on the therapy couch and gain zero insight if you want to.

Some of y'all are being really :optimistic: to think therapists call people on their shit all the time, they typically have a strictly supportive role and ask questions to help people solve their own problems. Good ones do that anyway. Shittier therapists will just listen and ass pat and absorb whatever their clients say without any structure or plan in place. She could definitely come out of it more self absorbed or preoccupied with unrealistic fantasies of success. Don't get me wrong, AL needs therapy badly, I am not optimistic about her work ethic when she goes.

Dr Nowzaradan would 100% take her as a patient. He took the Assanti brothers. And that Schenee chick. It would make for wonderful television I imagine. But Dr Nowzaradan truly seems to want to help the super morbidly obese. He knows there's a lot of delusion, denial and self-sabotage. He's seen every trick in the book.

Dr Now/My 600lb Life is probably going to be AL's last chance as much as she doesn't want to admit it. Her mobility is likely way less than she likes to show for the camera. She has the classic enabler. If she doesn't think she meets his patient criteria she's mistaken. Right now she's too fat for bariatric surgery. I believe the cutoff is 400-450lbs from an interview I watched with Dr Nowzardan (conventional operating tables only hold 400-450lbs) The only reason Dr Now can do the surgeries is because he tied 2 operating tables together and put a large piece of plastic on top to make a surface large enough to operate on these patients.

(Obviously he uses a method called laporoscopic surgery in which he doesn't have to make very large incisions in the patients who are likely diabetic and have other health issues which would make healing from conventional surgery extremely difficult.)

The only way I think she would be a bad candidate is she probably wouldn't be able to stick to whatever non disclosure agreement the show makes them sign.

She'd be totally non-compliant. The only way she would be a 'good' patient is if she were admitted into the hospital and given a strict diet with someone watching her like a hawk to make sure she's not sneaking food. Otherwise she would throw temper tantrums, sneak food and likely leave AMA when she can't get what she wants.
 
Shed be as successful as Penny. The similarities are kind of funny actually. Agreed that it would make for some excellent TV though.

"Bad patient" ... I used the wrong word ... :lol: I meant more like bad candidate for the show. She would totally be non compliant with the doctors orders. And that makes for a great episode. :lol:

Most of the people on My 600 lb life are not at all okay with those scenes, but desperately need surgery so they do it anyway. There is probably an established method on My 600 lb life for breaking down the resistance people have to being filmed nude by strangers, they are likely pros at getting those shots with manipulation. People who are desperate are easy to exploit, and TV execs know it just as well as pimps do.

Shes so weirdly insecure about certain things.
Seeing some of her video thumbnails would make you think she has no shame but then she goes and hides her hooves like itd be sooo weird and icky if a 500 pounder had no ankles, even though you can already see it with the tights
