:autism: I hate that I know this, but the shower scene isn't required of My 600 Lb Life participants. It's optional, but they're paid extra for it - how much, I have no clue. Clearly enough that most of them have decided it's worth it. It's a moot point though, since AL is clearly a dainty little princess that would never qualify for that show.

If I remember correctly, Bettie Jo did a Q&A and said you get paid more if you do it. I get why they do it I guess - it's humiliating, sure, but most people who aren't anywhere near that size wonder how the hell they complete basic everyday tasks like bathing and wiping. If you're already the size of a planet and want the money and surgery badly enough you might as well do it with the optimistic approach that the worst thing that could happen is you lose the weight and never, ever have to go back to being hosed down by another person.

To not just shitpost, I think she may be, if buying likes is a thing. I think she's narcissistic enough to do it, and dumb enough with money to think it's a good idea/not care about it, not thinking that things with Becky might actually be coming to an end and she should be saving money as a contingency at the very least (aside from the fact that buying likes is stupid and seems like a waste of money unless your total like ratio affects how your ad revenue pays out or something), if nothing than to boost her image or ego.

But more than that, I cant help but think that we know she and Chantal have been in communication, and recently she's been increasingly clickbait-y in a way that she wasn't before, but Chantal always kind of has been. I really think that she and Chantal have been trading youtube tips, because this whole dramatic "Im going to quit Youtube FOREVER!" only to come back like 10 hours later and be like "I only binged youtube once in 10 hours arent you proud of me!?" Except AL is somehow fucking it up and not pulling it off quite right, even Chantal would wait like two or three days to reinstate her channel.

Dr. Now is a pioneer in laporoscopic weight loss surgery, but not because he rolled tables together. :).

Anyway, Amber said she’s taking us on a new “journey,” this time to be a better person. The only place that girl is going is to a morgue.

Oh yes definitely laparoscopic surgery is the method he uses to operate. But the people he operates on need to be on an operating table. Conventional tables only hold up to about 400lbs. So he literally stuck two of them together in order to be able to perform laporoscopic surgery on the super morbidly obese. There's an interview he gave you can watch on YouTube.

No doubt his surgical methods are much more important than him just putting two operating tables together but that part really stuck out in my mind.

I shouldn't have glossed over the laporoscopic surgery part but yeah. Sorry this is off topic.

In case you don't keep tabs on Chantal, that is precisely what she did a couple of hours ago. She also announced a break from YouTube but admitted she was only planning on taking the weekend off.
 
So basically what I got out of this was:
  • No body cared enough that she left so she's back because attention whore
  • She does not want anyone to be posting any helpful advice about going to a doctor/therapist. She only wants asspats.
  • She's addicted to youtube attention; just like she's addicted to food
  • She's "scared" of talking about her past.... but she'll share it with thousands on youtube

If all you're going to do at your therapy sessions is lie to the therapist (and we know you will), then don't fucking bother to go. I have a feeling that you're on some kind of state-funded healthcare, and the thought of you wasting taxpayer money to help you destroy yourself is fucking sickening.

I know you're not suggesting this, but God, can you imagine if those two became a couple?! Is Chantal gay? Do they live close to each other? Could a regular building support the two of them at the same time without collapsing?

No, just no. I definitely would NOT suggest that she shouldn't bother going to therapy EVEN IF she plans on not giving the complete god's honest truth the first session, maybe even the second. These people are trained to read through bullshit. And come on, this girl is 500 lbs., there is no WAY she could get away with lying about anything. The therapist will see she has issues the moment she waddles into their office.

Chantal crossed my mind first but I dunno. The "dear friend" thing makes me think it's not her because she normally just says "Chantal" when she talks about her. Also would Chantal really be putting the work into looking for specialized therapists for AL when she just dropped in at the nearest free therapy clinic for herself? She didn't even bother making an appointment, and not only that, but she waited until right before the place closed to even go.

She's not, she doesn't have health insurance at all. She refused to accept help when people tried to guide her through the marketplace and even if she did qualify for Medicaid under the new expansion (annual gross income below $16,394 in Kentucky) she'd have to provide proof of income which she likely wouldn't do since she hasn't paid taxes for however long and doesn't have an ID. I'd be surprised if she even technically has proof of residency since she and Becky bolth pay cash for rent and utilities so they likely don't have any 'real' bills coming to them at that address.
 
If she doesn't have proof of residency, wouldn't that make it easier for her to get assistance? Like on paper, she is technically homeless. She could just waddle into a womens shelter and say she was kicked out of her former girlfriends house, and due to her size (would be considered a disability or 'risk factor' or some other BS) she'd be fast-tracked for housing. While in the shelter system, she'd get hooked up with ID, doctors, etc. And money from the state of course.
