Event Insane 'Live Action' VTuber Just Dropped - His gimmick is storytelling?

I'm not just 'baitin' here, I do have a genuine curiosity:

Is the fact that VTubers are digital puppet shows something the fanbase is generally aware of? Is it part of your awareness and vocabulary? The models are 3d rigs, manipulated by a real person, who does voices from behind a curtain. It takes place in a well decorated box and depends on live audience interaction.

Who cares? Good performers are good performers.

I didn't say they were 'merely' or 'only' or 'just' puppet shows. It's a fascinating revival of a basically dead form of entertainment, and I've never heard another nigga declare it as such. So I'm wondering if you zoomie-zooms were even aware this has happened.

There are other comparisons that could be made to masked performers, but the form of the performance could be compared to bards, one-man acts, lounge performers, etc. It's not really unique enough in structure to be specifically tied to puppetry above the others.

This is the closest modern analogue I can think of off the top of my head, and it's muppets.

Well, yeah?

Puppet shows are not exactly the same, and not all people considered "vtubers" do the "doing voices" thing. I refuse to believe a normal sounding autist with a mocap avatar saying basic shit like "chat my internet keeps fucking dying" or talking about setting up a schedule is somehow secretly pulling some 5d fake persona chess move to manipulate people. I also refuse to believe people constantly pushing that narrative actually believe it's the case. The mocap avatar is kind of a "puppet" of sorts, but not used to display several characters but instead serve as the streamer's visual identifier. Years ago before the vtuber thing took off, you'd see a similar thing with almost anyone that didn't use facecam online.

Those dolls are all controlled by hands, VTubers are more like full body costumes.

Nah, it's a webcam based mocap thing usually so literally anyone can do it without suffocating in the tinkie winkie suit. If you want to like compare it to something costume-ish t's more like someone putting a window in front of them with a paper mask taped to it at a bank or 7/11 or some shit.

I'm pretty sure puppets are still very much a thing and not dead. Shit's just not on a lot of network tv or in movie theatres because cgi indian sweatshops are somehow seen as better.
Well, yeah?
With the puppet visuals it becomes even more apparent that the audio is just basic vidya streamer fuckery. if you showed this to someone with no context it would be entirely incomprehensible.

I'm sure the vast majority just struggle with it like Dear Feeder does. Though there's probably a handful who take advantage of it to make excuses - like the Gunt does. Even flies will mimic the color of hornets, there's always a subset of people being deceptive.

This is a good point. When they have multiple people on stream it is an actual duo or trio. It's not one person with three avatars switching their voice around - which is pretty fundamental to a puppet show.
