That's exactly my point. If shit gets bad enough that cops start shooting, the general population will *not* side with the rioters. This is bad optics already, provoking a violent police response would be worse. If this turns into a shoot-out between cops and rioters, it'll be a catastrophe... well, for conservative Americans anyway. I'm just a bystander watching in awe while eating popcorn.

Cops won't start shooting unless someone's actively pointing a gun at them. Each cop has what, an extra mag on them? There are literally thousands of armed men surrounding them. It's suicide by mob. You're assuming that cops have magic abilities to tell apart armed men from unarmed in a crowd of tens of thousands.

They literally stand ready with their guns out. There is a final line, I do not know where exactly it is, but it's not far and chances are, the longer this continues, the closer it gets.
