Sad but true. On both accounts. As much as I hate Trudeau and how he's overstayed his welcome (and how he clearly just held an election just so he could stay longer, jackass). He really isn't important when it comes to politics. Though tbf, most of the world ends up in that same boat. It's almost always the US, Russia and (if it's a slow news day) the UK. Everyone else only gets mentioned occasionally, if that.

While my husband is more right-leaning, he's more "hands off" with politics altogether, since the topic these days is so goddamn soul-sucking and unpleasant. He's more of a "normie" in that sense. You know-- a normal person who just wants to grill, man.

That said, he couldn't help but express his disgust to me today when he kept hearing the comparisons of 1/6 to things like Pearl Harbor and 9/11.

Very rarely does something political rile my husband up, but today's news coverage and today's comments from the White House most certainly did it.

I'm sure it did the same to a lot of normies out there, too. Apparently leaks came out that this is the thing that the Democrats are banking in on for the midterm elections. This is all they've got. Lord knows they are on the losing side of literally every policy-related battle, so they're resorting to just calling everyone terrorists instead. And in the past week, Independent voters came out of focus groups, revealing that they couldn't care less about 1/6. The corporate media seethingly described it as: "It didn't immediately mean anything to them! REEEEE," which is hilarious.

And they can try to use this to stop Trump from running, but they voted on it a year ago already, and he wasn't convicted of a damn thing. If they're going to find something to use against him, 1/6 ain't it.
