What are those retards protesting anyway?
I think they were attempting to attend a special session happening today, but the legislators decided to close it to the public. They attempted to force their way into the building because they wanted their voices heard by the government to end the shutdown. Things will likely continue to escalate is my guess.

edit: I'm hearing that the special session was about the vaccine, and some less than trustworthy right leaning places are saying they are talking about making the vaccine mandatory (huge grain of salt) probably the special session was just about the vaccine in general. So the protestors were there wanting to add public comments for that, but the session never started.

edit2: nvm was about budgets. lame

Unless, of course, some faggot goes "Shooting commies will make me a hero of the people like Kyle Rittenhouse" and goes gung-ho on some dudes. I don't expect it to happen, but I couldn't really pretend to be surprised, given that we've already had loonies trying to invade a Pizza restaurant to proof some child-trafficking sex ring operating from their basement.
No matter what, it won't result in any real revolution or widespread political violence. Conservatives are too pussified for that.
It's almost like the ones bitching about fraud are just sore losers in either case. Aaalmost.
You know that the GOP couldn't care less about fraud because there are eight states which use- at least in some areas- extremely questionable completely paperless voting machines which provide no hand-auditable paper output. But Trump won all of them except New Jersey, so of course no fraud occurred!

senate is still close and votes are happening. it's not that uncommon anyway. jfk, lbj, nixon hadn't resigned by now. biden resigned 5 days before he was inaugurated vp. there's probably older ones that went right up to the deadline but cba.
A most excellent answer to my question. I appreciate the time you took to share and look up the info, as it is apparent that I was far too lazy to do so.

Regarding the other replies, I had heard that there was a hot debate in California over filling the seat with a Hispanic woman or an African American woman. Which just seems stupidly ironic, because electing/appointing based solely on their ethnicity is the last place you want to go if you are aimed at stemming corruption and getting the most effective leader in office. In a time where all of these weak politicians are being exposed so aggressively by a national crisis, I think if you were to appoint the wrong person it would become very apparent very quickly.

The points about the stimulus bill and other issues they are trying to logjam through did occur to me, though I suppose my brain was inclined to discount this line of reasoning because 1. The governor gets to appoint the replacement, 2. It will be a Democrat no matter what. So I was thinking in terms of them not exactly losing a vote in the senate, were she to relinquish the duties of her present office.

My opinion on the matter of this election hinges on two simple things: we should be allowed to see the entire process through (as we have done for the most part thus far without any results in Trump's favor). Any and all the results of any investigations should be publicly transparent, as well as the discussions of any judicial bodies, were they to be dismissed.

The second thing I maintain and shall stick firmly to is to have the self awareness that Trump supporters who are holding on and adamant about his victory, are basically no better than the idiots who screamed that Hillary lost solely due to the Russians.

We can agree absolutely that social media's aggressive campaign of censorship, the authoritarian lockdowns, and the mainstream media's refusal to air certain stories, were a conceited and successful effort to sway votes away from trump. But at the end of the day, we live in the age of information and while CNN and MSNBC may have not run certain stories, this did not prevent anyone from going to find them from alternative sources. In the same vein I argue that the 2016 election was valid, for the American people were the ones who ultimately cast the votes.

I don't enjoy preaching or forcing anyone to follow my way of thinking. I think conversation and discussion in itself is the most important vector for progress. While these days such talks often turn into something more volatile than productive, I find that focusing on the things we agree on rather than the things we disagree on is always the best place to start.

I have said it a month ago and I stand firmly in the belief that we should show our worth as something more than mindless drones and give Biden the chance that so many on the left never afford Trump. He was set up to fail. If the right takes this position this time around, then Biden is doomed to fail as well. I dont know about you guys, but I prefer small wins over surefire losses.

Personally, I think we need a win after all the shit that has gone on. While I do not wish to force my thinking upon others, I do implore that we be better than they were, that we all start Biden out at a "0" and we can dock or add points based on his performance, not our preexisting prejudices.

The system only works if we don't cave into this Olympics of uncooperativeness. I know it doesn't seem fair. I know that it is fun to cheer for your own team. But all these MAGA cheering folks who have proclaimed their patriotism and loyalty to the US the last four years are being hypocritical if you suddenly want to switch teams just because a different man is now at the helm. The same can be said for the #resist fags who are now uber pro-gov because Biden is in.

If we the people wanna be treated like adults and not coddled like children, we gotta act like it.

I totally agree with your points about civility and kindness, but am rating you "Optimistic" because right now things are moving more towards "the two tribes try to figure out ways to kill each other" than "the two tribes recognize that any victory in the Culture War will be Phyrric and leave the country a smoking husk ruled over by foreign powers".
>inb4 "Babby's first election", things aren't at the level of the Days of Rage and WU yet but they're moving that direction.

Of course not, it's just going to be a SovCit-flavoured repetition of BLM on a much smaller scale at most.
But by going triggerhappy, these gun-toting fools might give (ironically) more ammo to those liberal whiners that call conservative gunmen the "real terrorist threat to the US"... and they won't even be totally wrong about that.

This is a concern of mine, and I think the democrats are coordinated enough to fan the flames of the most upset gun-toting angries until one of them snaps and shoots some people. Then they will crack down as hard as they can get away with.
Admittedly it's a tough topic and probably not one worth discussing even here right now due to recent events involving glows but the question of "When does lead start flying?" is always relevant because gun owner retards are always "hurr durr u need da gunz to shoot da tyrants!" followed up by "i lost muh gunz in da booting acident" or "if dey make da gunz ilegal u bury dem until u need dem" and as far as I'm concerned, regardless of where you are in the world, if you have to hide your guns to keep them then you're at the point where I'd reasonably expect you should be using them because it's not going to do any good for them to be hidden until your kid sells them for scrap or something.

Back on the rails, at the antifa events we had multiple shootings, 2 of them were picked up by mainstream news but only one (Rittenhouse) was really paraded around. If anyone is killed at righty protests then it'll probably be like Rittenhouse and certainly won't go largely ignored. Coverage of the protests is what I hate most of all about the protests. The "peaceful protest" chyron comes to mind.

I guess it goes without saying, but no matter how much media and democrats fan the flames, whoever shoots at another person for a stupid political reason is not justified to do so.
Media coverage and their bias will be off the rails, though. Half a dozen people getting brutally murdered by BLM, media hits the snooze button. One guy defending himself from a pedo, a wifebeater and a burglar and the media is running a 24/7 campaign to smear the poor guy. Imagine what they would do if some MUH 2nd CONDIMENT chucklefucks goes apeshit at a rally...

I agree with everything but shooting people for stupid political reasons. It's just ammo for gun control and would overshadow important things in the news.

Yes, Trump lost due to electoral fraud. No, he won't do shit about it except bitch on twitter before Dorsey bans him. Biden will be Bush 3.0 who'll resume the managed decline, help China and empower the current corporate monopolies. He won't implement islamic communism or implement leftist pet projects. Neither he nor his handlers care about any of this shit.
