Republicans are roundly condemning this far more peaceful protest while the Democrats did no such thing for the entire BLM riots.

Maybe its just me, but does this really compare to the BLM riots? I mean there was one major incident where they banged on the Capitol door and a protestor got shot but that was mostly it in a gigantic crowd of actually peaceful protestors. So this is a mob and a full blown riot but the BLM stuff where tons more got destroyed and far more people died was a 'mostly peaceful protest' and even conservatives just nod their head in agreement? Seems somewhat incongruous to me.

I don't have the energy to go source this for you right now especially since most of the shit I dig up gets ignored anyways but you should look up the deaths that happened at those protests specifically who was dying and who was doing the killing because just from reading your post it sounds an awful lot like you're implying it was all protesters killing people. I'm still waiting for specifics on the deaths of yesterday though.

Impeaching Trump and removing him from office prevents him for running for office again in the future (not sure if 25th does the same thing). Also, they want Trump and his supporters and enablers to suffer. And they want to send a message to anyone who'd dare challenge them. Soon afterwards, we may see them moving to arrests, show trial, execution.

I am curious as to what's going to become of Trump, and how the rest of his life is going to look. No way in hell he's going to be able to go back to being the businessman that he was. After all of the fallout he may even end up entirely broke with all his assets seized if he's lucky enough to still be alive somewhere.
