One problem for Trump is that every Republican in Congress who is planning a 2024 run has to do some political calculus. They can support his impeachment, or they can refuse to help him out if the 25th is used. That takes him out of the running for 2024, but means any plans they had for trying to convert the MAGApedes is gone. Or, they can continue to vaguely sort of support him but more quietly than last week, and hope that before 2024 arrives, he either dies of natural causes or the state of NY imprisons him.
