You both have valid points.

• If you have a cell phone or a laptop with a camera, you basically are microchipped. If you have a CC license, a range or gun-rights group membership, an NFA item, or have filled out a Form 4473, you're known to the government. Even if you're not being actively watched, the glowies can have a dossier on you in a matter of minutes, if they so choose.
• The Right is already hamstrung in organizing, thanks to social media crackdowns and worries about honeypots/someone snitching.
• A lot of people Just Wanna Grill. There's a kernel of truth to the Threeper meme. Getting people on board would be hard, especially when getting caught entails, at best, a de facto life sentence.

On the flipside:

• The Feds have limited manpower and resources. They can't be everywhere at once
• They often need the cooperation of state and local police. There are lots of 2A sanctuaries, and while the Feds can hypothetically enforce federal law in them, the idea is that state and local cops are refusing to help them.
• The G-Men also have to consider optics, believe it or not. Remember Waco and Ruby Ridge? Repeats of those might make it hard to convince normies that the Feds are the good guys.

What will work in their advatage is they dont need society to keep their lifestyle. So scorched earth is going be their main goal.
