Fucking hell, even the Ouya - as sketchy as everyone thought that was - made it through the finish line. How did they fuck this up so badly.
even Mad Catz, in their dying breath, pushed a video game console to market:

the Mad Catz Mojo, it was another Android box that came and went, and the only attention anyone ever gave it was for the obvious jokes you could make about Mad Catz making their own consoles

I can't even tell if Tommy Tallarico was intentionally scamming or just laughably incompetent. Probably a mix of both. He brands himself as this big famous video game musician, but barely has anything noteworthy to his name. I wonder if he visibly seethes whenever he hears Megalovania.

Did anyone really anticipate this going any other way?

The Intellivision was not an iconic console. It sold over 3 million units. The Atari 2600 sold 30 Million! You'd have to be in the mid 40s if not older to have any nostalgia for the Intellivision. And home console games were shit back then, we all know it. No one's clamoring to play Beamrider.

Tommy is a Grade A moron if this wasn't anything more than scam ala "The Producers."

And home console games were shit back then
The graphics might've been a bit sparse, which is why they needed gameplay to back them up (which many of them had).

As an added bonus, old-timey vidya games were released in a physical format, you didn't need to download constant updates and they weren't riddled with current year horseshit like microtransactions.

Idk... I actually tried the Colecovision's version of Montezuma's Revenge on an emulator after seeing AVGN give it a pass on his video, and aside from how the character handles, it's really not a bad game.
I have it on the Sega Master System and one of my favorite games on it. Only problem with that game it doesn't take the Genesis controller and you have to use that awful mushy SMS controller.

Intellivision sent out an update to investors via email about a week ago. Pat the NES Punk is onto it.

StartEngine is now showing $0 and 0 investors. (archive)

I didn't realise how pathetic the Tallarico/Amico cult actually is until I saw this video.

Those people at the end who admit to dreaming about Tommy must be some of the saddest people alive. They seemed pretty happy about it as well which is weird. If I had a dream with that man-child in it I'm pretty sure I would call it a nightmare and never tell anyone.

>that UI
fucking why?? It looks terrible
That's the least of this video's problems.

There are a few other little things that make the video look sus:
- the controllers have screens, but there's no plastic protector on them (which they'd have if they were brand new)
- when the Amico is powered on, it boots straight up without going through the usual first-time config steps every other console does
- when connecting to the secured wi-fi network, the Amico didn't ask for the wi-fi password

Some of this might be down to editing, but as it's been presented this video smells. There are probably other anomalies that I missed. I wouldn't be surprised if both the console and the box are prototypes. All Intellivision needed to do was a factory reset on the Amico before making this video and it would've been at least semi-convincing.

YouTube link (you really need to see it in 1080p to enjoy the stink):

Edit: the autists at r/Intellivision_Amico have noted a whole bunch of other anomalies. Everything from the box lacking mandatory compliance info (FCC/CE) to the UPC being for the white Amico and not the black one. It's also weird that a brand new console destined to be sent to Germany was shipped with a US power plug.

BTW @SSF2T Old User will appreciate this... that UI is worse than you think. Apparently the French translation is awful.

I don’t even like Pat the NES Punk and his fat friend but he’s been pretty based in his coverage of Amico. It’s can’t miss YouTube. He covers Amico and Tommy T like a lolcow.

As the only person on earth who owned Cool Spot, I take exception to this comment. It's a retarded soda marketing game, but the soundtrack is cash money. Particularly the Genesis version.

He also made le Roblox oof. Seriously, it's stolen from a game called Messiah that Tallarico did the SFX for. Every zoomer in the English-speaking world knows his work.

That video features a hand assembled dev kit. That's why there's no shrink wrap. They have no production units because they can't afford to put the thing into production. Given the vacant space next to the HDMI cable, power supply and wrist straps I don't think they've even designed a proper instruction manual yet. The UI looks the same as it has in every presentation of it.

There is proof that they've done some work. Cornhole got visually downgraded now that it's actually running on the machine and not a PC.

They spent over $20 million on shoving old phone components into a plastic shell plus designing a controller with a screen and scroll wheel. Inexperienced boomers doing things they're woefully unqualified for or an outright investment scam? Agreeing to that Arab's loan that gives him $100 off each machine sold is absolute insanity if they ever expected this shit to make it to shelves and have a shot at success.
