Biden Banks on $3.6 Trillion Tax Hike on the Rich and Corporations

Because capital gains income would also still be subject to a 3.8 percent surtax that helps fund the Affordable Care Act, the conservative Tax Foundation estimated that high-earning taxpayers in some states could face tax rates on their capital gains that are above 50 percent, the highest such tax burden in a century.

Wonder how big a November/December 2021 sell off we'll see if this goes into effect for 2022?

Ignoring the fact that individual investments, hence capital gains (or losses), are funded with after tax dollars in the first place. Meaning if you're rich why not just fund current consumption if your savings are gonna take it up the pooper...but that's probably a rant for a different time.

Couple of videos. Just discovered this guy. Not extreme doomer, does have expectation things aren't going to be great for a few years. Keeps things nice and to the point. Was surprised to learn how much of US mortgages are owned by the Fed! I didn't even know the Fed did that.

The fed does a lot of stuff you don't know about

It begins, price increases incoming. Inflation gonna fuck us all.

I hope it puts a damper on the democrats tax and spend policies, but I doubt it. Money printer go brrrrrrrr :(
Corporations been doing this AFTER the elections. Before the election it was not so fucking blatant. and as stated before, if things are really are so bad WHY ARE THEY MAKING MASSIVE PROFIT????

If you can sell a fucking piece of 7/16 of cheap ass OSB plywood for $69... PER sheet, instead of $14.00 before Nov 3rd 2020 you are going to make those god damned excuses.

Again I do not buy into all of the bullshit being thrown by the various corporations of late. Corporations have no emphasis in doing so because the Biden Administration have their OWN agenda and that is to not help the middle class. As bad as everyone bad mouthing Trump I'm pretty damned sure that the Corporations would be not as fucking blatant as this. Because Trump is a loose cannon and he would do something about it if it makes him look good.

Now as far as your comment about taxes....

Already implemented for certain tax changes from 2021 and onward.

From the NY Times: Pipeline Investigation Upends Idea That Bitcoin Is Untraceable

This presumably comes as a surprise to no one here, but the government wants to make sure everyone knows it now.

“The public is slowly being shown, in case after case, that Bitcoin is good for law enforcement and bad for crime — the opposite of what many historically believed,” said Hunter Horsley, chief executive of Bitwise Asset Management, a cryptocurrency investment company.

Probably BS, but interesting:

tldr - the rich are buying up neighborhoods, killing and keeping the middle class out of home ownership.

Sadly, it's not bullshit. That's exactly what Blackrock is doing. It's what the CCP did in China too.

Speaking of the CCP - "China's new digital yuan test shows it can be programed to confine utility"
So basically load up digital currency onto a card, but it can only be used for certain purposes. May not seem like a big deal, but it's on this back of this...

BoE tells UK ministers : Digital cash could be programmed to ensure it is only spent on essentials

Considering the past year and a half we have all lived through with lockdowns, forced closures of small business whilst big business gets to do what it pleases, mass forced unemployment, industries still not able to open fully and then the whole "you can only shop for essentials" bullshit, governments have shown they can shut down anyone, when they like, for whatever reason they like, for however long they like and if you want to survive, you'd better take that UBI or use your savings to survive.

Oh and you can only shop for essentials. (Or in Abu Dhabi, you better get vaxxed or you're banned from going anywhere BUT the grocery store and pharmacy for your essentials and you can't work outside of your home. Sensing a pattern yet?)

Kinda makes me feel weary of why shithole countries are suddenly wanting to make Crypto an alt-currency....

Wells Fargo suspending credit lines, hmm, wonder if this is a symptom of an ill economic paradigm.

Just gave the coinbase Visa Debit Card a spin. Basically just loaded it up with 50 bucks of USDC. Immediately let me spend it before it actually cleared my checking account. No transfer fee to USDC and immediately gave me 1% back in bitcoin after I used it to buy groceries. Debating if I want to use this to grind reward cash instead of my quick silver. It's .5% less...but it pays in BTC which may grow in the long run. Or Lumens if you like that.

Been telling UBIfags for a while that that shit will only be used to clamp down on people and make them dependent on government and/or corporations. Its the return to the company store system but country-wide instead. And dont be surprised if your UBI can be taken from you for wrongthink

It makes rebellion near impossible, the perfect forever dictatorship

Having played around with the coinbase card...I actually kinda like it. It's really interesting to have my crypto portfolio at immediate beck and call to make a purchase without having to wait a day or more for a transfer to a traditional checking account. My only gripe is of course coinbases transfer fee. To load up the card you need to use USDC and they charge the same rate as if you just turned your crypto into Fiat. It's defeats entirely the 1% you get in Bitcoin.

It's definitely in the "nice to have" category, but not something I plan to use extensively.

Any articles that review books.
I'm looking for most info in one place and I didn't see a thread for books

I guess I'll shove this over here cause I don't know where else to put it.

One of Japan's biggest online digital storefronts and publishers, DMM -- who does a SHITLOAD of porn, amongst other things -- has cut ties with Mastercard.

Without getting too degenerate, Mastercard had obviously been putting pressure on them, forcing them to ban certain words from search and use symbols to censor certain words on existing adult products. It's the same bog standard shit they've been doing over in the west for a few years. But it sounds like DMM just told them to fuck off rather than constantly chase the moving red dot. No idea if they can survive if Mastercard decides to declare them haram and block them from being able to do business online, like they do with everyone in the West that defies them.

For comparison, this would be like Amazon in the West telling Mastercard to fuck off.
