It's nowhere near October, but one ensemble is already on track to be named the most controversial Halloween costume of 2015.

Social media users were out in full force on Monday criticizing several Halloween retailers for offering a Caitlyn Jenner costume reminiscent of the former-athlete's Vanity Fair cover earlier this year.

While Jenner's supporters condemned the costume as "transphobic" and "disgusting" on Twitter, Spirit Halloween, a retailer that carries the costume, defended the getup.

"At Spirit Halloween, we create a wide range of costumes that are often based upon celebrities, public figures, heroes and superheroes," said Lisa Barr, senior director of marking at Spirit Halloween. "We feel that Caitlyn Jenner is all of the above and that she should be celebrated. The Caitlyn Jenner costume reflects just that."

"This suddenly became 100% hotter! OMG!"
Am I channeling the spirits of thots past right? I'm new to this medium thing. Doing it in reverse for guys is hard though.

Since this can fit in several different places figured it's best as a stand-alone.

From El Paso to Antifa to LA: America the Insane
BY ROGER L. SIMON AUGUST 4, 2019

Predictably, Beto O'Rourke fairly sprinted down to his hometown of El Paso to blame Donald Trump for the city's mass murders in the hope of reigniting the Texan's failing presidential campaign. But if you read the gunman's manifesto, you would find the murderer as much in agreement, possibly more so, with Elizabeth Warren and O'Rourke himself than with Trump. The shooter wants universal healthcare and a guaranteed income. He also wants to kill Mexicans and to partition the country into equal race-based sections, a kind of identity politics taken to the nth power, not that any of this matters. The man is clearly insane, as was the now-deceased Dayton killer who was reportedly a Democrat and a Satanist, planning on voting for Warren, as well as, of course, being mentally ill. (“I want socialism, and i’ll [sic] not wait for the idiots to finally come round to understanding,” the Dayton shooter tweeted.)

This is obviously not politics in any rational sense, although we are hearing endless political statements from pols anxious to exploit the tragedy. It's about craziness. An epidemic is sweeping the country and has been for some time. Mass shootings are only one manifestation, although arguably the most horrible and extreme one.

It may not immediately seem to be so, but the expanding homeless populations all over the streets of Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Seattle are another salient example. These people are hugely disturbed, unwilling to live in shelters, some quite well-equipped, that have been built for them. They prefer to live in tents more hospitable to their lifestyle that frequently involves drugs and to be left alone with their delusions while defecating on the sidewalks. Neighborhoods are being destroyed as a result.

And then there's Antifa. Is running around in masked costumes smashing windows and beating people in the name of fighting "fascism" an example of sanity or derangement? Obviously the latter. Antifa is yet another tragedy waiting to happen. Their mirror images, white supremacist groups, are similar manifestations of severe emotional disturbance with obvious violent implications.

All these people and groups are connected by their high level of psychological disturbance. Their number is small, even tiny, compared to the total population, but our population is approaching a giant 330 million. If only one-tenth of one percent of that number is seriously disturbed, that's 330,000 dangerous nut cases (excuse the non-clinical terminology) walking around in our country.

Because of the sclerotic politics that we all have been living with since we were born, most of the discussion this week will be focused on gun control. It will be largely symbolic and almost entirely irrelevant. Ban AR-15s or not, people who wish to wreak havoc will have no trouble getting the weapons to do it. We've already seen that in places like Chicago and Paris that have stringent gun laws, yet have seen catastrophic gun violence.

The real discussion should be about mental health, not weaponry, but the former is far more difficult to deal with. Indeed, it's almost overwhelming. Ex post facto, almost all these mass murderers are easily classified as mentally ill, but only rarely are they interdicted in advance. Law enforcement agencies, school administrators and other authorities have been reluctant to take action to prevent the disturbed from acting out for fear of repercussions to themselves or simply out of lassitude. This is not only true for the potential shooters, but it also helps explain why nothing has been done about the tent cities turning our most beautiful cities into Third World cesspits. Or the government in Portland allowing Antifa to run rampant. No one wants to be an adult anymore.

We're going to have to learn unless we want these events to be the new normal — or rather continue to be the new normal.

A teen on Tik Tok is claiming to be the granddaughter of Carole Ann Boone and serial killer Ted Bundy.

Bundy confessed to the murder of 30 women before his execution in 1989. The murders occurred throughout the 1970s–perhaps even earlier–and spanned across several states. In the months before his execution, he and Boone reportedly managed, on several occasions, to have sex in the visiting room. It was during these visits that Boone and Bundy’s child Rose Bundy was allegedly conceived. Rose, who was born in October 1982, would be 36 years old in 2019. The woman who claims to be her daughter, Ally R. Bragg, announced her connection to the infamous serial killer via TikTok.

Bragg made the claim about her family in a recently uploaded video. The video, while no longer available to view on TikTok, was saved by users and shared to Twitter. The video, which has been viewed by upwards of 2 million people, has garnered split reactions.

“Hey yo, famous relative check,” Bragg says before showing purported unreleased images of the family.

Many people who have viewed the video are criticizing Bragg for outing her alleged mother, who has spent her life attempting to remain hidden. “What could possibly be more 2019 than Ted Bundy’s granddaughter outing her family for tik tok clout,” Twitter user Josh Blevins wrote.

Other users expressed their surprise that Bragg would claim to be related to one of the most notorious serial killers in history.

The most prominent share of the video came from Twitter user @ssdvfa. Following criticism for her choice to further spread the video, @ssdvfa shared screenshots of Bragg’s responses in the comment section of her original video. Among her responses were statements like, “If I hit 10K I will make a video showing yall all the proof yall need and tell y’all why I posted this,” and “My mother go’s (sic) by Rosa.”

Following the video’s virality, many people expressed disbelief that Bragg is actually related to the notorious murderer and began pointing out inaccuracies. “This Ally Bragg’s mother was born June 17, 1977. Rose was born October 24, 1982. Her FB page links to her mother, and you can easily uncover that the birthdates are different,” Twitter user Christopher M. Jones pointed out.

One user even shared screenshots of an alleged conversation with Bragg, in which she admits that the video was intended as a joke. “No it was a joke but some people can’t take a joke,” she said. “But I’m okay I’m just afraid they are gonna go after my parents and shit like I don’t rlly care for me but it’s a whole other story if they text my parents.”

Whether or not Bragg’s claim is true, most people seem to agree on one thing: Choosing TikTok to out your incognito family is a strange choice.

I know this shit has pretty much been debunked, but this Bragg idiot is no relation to Bundy or his daughter. The daughter has lived in the UK since 2002; a tabloid located her earlier this year.

Reactions: break these cuffs
i dont like this "why didnt anybody do something in advance?" argument, because the immediate and clear followup of "well what should have been done?" is always met with silence.

like, yeah, there's a bunch of dudes around who are (more or less obviously) fucked in the head. but what are you going to do about it? lock them up for life because they give you the creeps? put them in mental asylums because they show signs of depression and anger? gee, by those standards, you'd be locking up dozens of millions of people! you sure this is the way you want to go?
"He was such a sweet kid, he had his whole life ahead of him." Everybody who knew a mass murderer. Same people who say "we should have done something in advance". People are simply too self-centered to notice other people's bullshit.

Reminds me of Nikalous Cruise, who the FBI was warned of twice and once the shooting happened everyone knew it was him. Could be he meant, 'When some fucker has been reported as a nutcase who wants to kill people multiple times, he should at least be invesitigated.'

I saw that math error. You're lucky I didn't post quickly enough.

Okay, I could be wrong, but something seems oddly familiar, but then handled differently. What is it though? Let me think...

So do you gotta shoot people one at a time, or in very small bunches for people not to notice? Geez, I just don't understand things. I'm so old. I'm cold. I want a bran muffin.

I shouldn't post of a morning before copious amounts of caffeine.

Are they, though? If there's a commonality it seems to be disaffection more than anything else, and that applies equally whether you're talking about individuals or groups, and irrespective of ideological persuasion.

Investigate him, find that he writes violent fantasies in some diary, maybe he's a dipshit who beats women, then what? Lock him up a few years for domestic violence and then let him out so he can go shoot people up? Or lock him up in prison for life because of it?

Maybe get him a psychological evaluation and get him treatment? You say you're contemplating suicide and you at least a three day hold.
That and the guy who sold Cruise the weapon should be punnished. He sold a gun to an obvious sped well known in the area as being a crazy person.

It seems that question is only applicable in cases like Parkland, Orlando and maybe Sandy Hook. People contacted the FBI about Cruz and they didn't do shit. Even Cruz called the cops on himself and they didn't do anything. Not to mention the cop who didn't fucking do his job and ran away like a bitch. Orlando -

https://www.usatoday.com/story/opin...sm-failure-james-comey-book-column/478092002/ TL'DR the FBI sucks at its job. With SandyHook the mother of the shooter knew he was on the fucking autism spectrum, but still had her guns in an openly available place.

"Child with Autism" Signs Wanted, Village of Hamburg to consider
By Fadia Patterson Hamburg
PUBLISHED 11:40 PM ET Aug. 03, 2019 UPDATED 7:49 AM ET Aug. 04, 2019

In the town of Hamburg, applications for the diamond-shaped signs that read 'Child with Autism Area' are rolling in.

"It is a unique danger and parents of those children suffer a great deal of anxiety in caring for the kids with autism," said Town Supervisor James Shaw.

He says a resolution was passed to allow the posting of such signs following a process that began 18 months ago.
Signs for the blind, deaf and handicap already exist to curb injury, but many parents of autistic children are frustrated that the austism signs are not sanctioned by the state Department of Transportation.

"The State Department of Transportation has issued an advisory opinion to towns and villages throughout the state of New York that such a sign is not appropriate because it does not alert motorist specifically to what kind of danger is posed by autistic children," said Shaw.
Debbie Cordone is the founder of the Fantastic Friends of Western New York. Many members are raising autistic children.

"The risk is these kids can be very quick and unpredictable," said Cordone, of Cheektowaga. "They can dart quickly into the street! They don't understand danger."

The town of Hamburg became the fourth municipality in Erie County to adopt the autistic signs. The village of Hamburg will have its own discussion on how they plan to tackle the issue next.

Mayor Moses said the village will discuss it during a meeting Monday at 5:30 p.m.

A short lesson on language and slurs:

Chinese refer to China as "Zhongguo" and chinese people as "Zhongruoren". Koreans refer to Korea as "Hangook" and koreans as "Hangookin". These terms share some of the same underlying characters for "country" and "people (nationality)".

Chinese: 中国人
Korean: 韓国人 (in hangul, 한국인)

国 = country
人 = person, people

"Gook" as a slur derives from the "Hangook"/"Hangookin". If the term was a broader asian slur, it would more likely be one of the following:

1. take a chinese pronunciation due to the historical relationship between chinese language and other east asian languages (japanese kanji/korean hangja)
2. take a japanese pronunciation because of america's longer and deeper cultural relationship with japan

Ie, if a term/slur/etc is korean in nature it is very likely to be targeted specifically at koreans.
I used to think that was the historical etymology of the "gook" slur as well, but I have since changed my mind after reading some first-person accounts written and published in the mid-1920s which define and use "gook" as a US Marine slang term for Nicaraguan rebels during the interwar American occupation of that country, long predating the Korean conflict. From there, its use was expanded by US Marines to refer to all foreign inhabitants during the various banana republic interventions, and I suspect the Marines took it with them to the Pacific to refer to the Japanese, as the term crops up again here and there in the Pacific War literature. Then naturally, the Marines took it along with them to Korea a few short years later.

Though where the Marines in 1920s Nicaragua derived "gook" is still a mystery to me.
