It's nowhere near October, but one ensemble is already on track to be named the most controversial Halloween costume of 2015.

Social media users were out in full force on Monday criticizing several Halloween retailers for offering a Caitlyn Jenner costume reminiscent of the former-athlete's Vanity Fair cover earlier this year.

While Jenner's supporters condemned the costume as "transphobic" and "disgusting" on Twitter, Spirit Halloween, a retailer that carries the costume, defended the getup.

"At Spirit Halloween, we create a wide range of costumes that are often based upon celebrities, public figures, heroes and superheroes," said Lisa Barr, senior director of marking at Spirit Halloween. "We feel that Caitlyn Jenner is all of the above and that she should be celebrated. The Caitlyn Jenner costume reflects just that."

^It doesn't help that her entire career can be summed up between her doomed 2010 campaign when a picture of her was leaked licking a dildo strapped to a guy's nose at a Christmas party, and being prank called by Howard Stern's Captain Janks earlier on at MSNBC.

Styx vlog on Bitchute about leftists who astroturf the term "globalism" as antisemitic. Looks like they ran out of options.

So applauding terrorists who suicide bomb specifically targeting Israeli citizens is woke but complaining about corporations completely fucking workers all over the world is "anti-Semitic." Even though the most prominent globalism backers are countries like Germany.

I think Bernie Sanders getting annihilated was too much for poor Krystal Ball. Why is it that so many of Bernie's friends turn out to be complete duds?

Also, is that face getting puffy? Put the wine coolers down honey.

From "Aww, too bad Biden" to "SHUT IT ALL DOWN" , watching her descend into political tard-rage has been fun, and fresh too because of it's 'Guys, socialism is really going to win this time" bent. Cenk Ugyur and the TYT doing it when they can't win by just being neolibs has become passe' at this point.

There's nothing that prevents a government from releasing a legitimate cryptocurrency other than the fact that they never would do that in a million years.
I wouldn't trust government crypto any farther than I could throw it. The feds, the IRS, and who knows who else would have an itchy trigger finger on the freeze button for your assets the moment you draw any negative attention from them. I'm sure they'd love that extra leverage over private citizens.

Twenty-four years ago, we launched New Jersey Online in the middle of a crippling snowstorm. Today, we’re known as NJ.com and we are the largest news and information site in New Jersey, averaging more than 1 million unique visitors each day.

Back in 1996, public forums — aka message boards — were a big part of our appeal. People had things to say and our site was a place for all comers, whether the topic was gardening secrets, high school sports or town gossip.

Over time, message boards gave way to site comments that traveled directly with stories. Our commenting platform also has evolved, from heavily moderated by our experts to rarely moderated to machine moderated. At the same time, the often positive spirit of commenting steadily declined and we moved our resources elsewhere as the commenting audience continued to shrink.

Today, only about 2% of NJ.com’s total audience reads our comments and only 0.03% posts comments.

At their best, the NJ.com comments were a place to learn more about a story, add or correct information that we missed and engage in a meaningful, respectful debate. At their worst, our comments were a place none of us would want to spend time. They were a place for racism, misogyny and hatred — a place to perpetuate the worst stereotypes about our state, our neighborhoods and our people. It was never our intent, but we ultimately gave a small number of people a license to say things they would never say in their workplace or at their dinner table without the cloak of anonymity.

In short, New Jersey deserves better.

On Thursday morning, NJ.com will remove comments from the site. Archived stories also will have comments eliminated. We understand this will be upsetting to some of the people who read and post comments, but our editors will continue working to find the best ways to engage and hear your voice.

You can find more details here in our FAQ, and the How to Reach Us link is a great resource when you have something to share with one of our journalists.

We continue to look for ways to grow our reader engagement and welcome your input. If you’d like to help us, please take this brief survey.

Of course, we’re also still engaging with our millions of followers on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.

We’ll see you there.

minor compared to the crisis going on, but still:

TL;DR: Zantac and its generic equivalent, ranitidine, are getting pulled from shelves over concerns that the drugs contain a carcinogen, NDMA.

NDMA, btw, is the same contaminent found in those blood pressure meds a while back, IIRC a year ago (losartan, valsartan...)

EDIT: swapped letters around. NDMA is the contaminent, NMDA is something else entirely.

As I understand it, the stomach or liver metabolizes the drug into NMDA, so it's not even something they could remove if they wanted to. It's just an unstable molecule! Whoops!

Petition to name Dr. Anthony Fauci ‘Sexiest Man Alive’ gains momentum

He’s a doughnut, he’s a bobblehead, he could be the “Sexiest Man Alive.”

Dr. Anthony Fauci has become an unlikely celebrity and hero during the coronavirus pandemic, thanks to his daily no-nonsense briefings and decadeslong career fighting infectious diseases. And his rise to fame has tongues wagging in more ways than one.

An online petition making the rounds is calling for the public health expert, 79, to be named People Magazine’s “Sexiest Man Alive,” a title that has been awarded to famous studs such as David Beckham, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Idris Elba.

The director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases has also been immortalized in the form of a bobblehead toy and delicious pastries. On Thursday, the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum unveiled a Dr. Fauci model, with part of the proceeds going toward the American Hospital Association to support the 100 Million Mask Challenge.

Fans are really eating up Dr. Fauci, too. A Rochester, NY bakery put the infectious disease expert’s face on doughnuts last week and they’ve been selling like hotcakes, both in the store and online.

The face of the coronavirus crisis and the White House’s COVID-19 Task Force has even been placed on T-shirts, candles and plenty of other fan art.

The fandom has led hundreds to sign a Change.org petition to give Dr. Fauci the People’s “Sexiest Man Alive” title for 2020.

“His comforting and intelligent demeanor has helped to lessen our national anxiety,” the petition reads. “He speaks truth to power, a strength few have at this time. His kind face and manner of speaking bring calm during the storm. For sapiophiles and many others, he is the definitive Sexiest Man Alive in 2020.”

With over 500 signatures and counting, People’s Editor-in-Chief Dan Wakeford has even seen the petition.

“April Fool’s prank or not, Dr. Anthony Fauci is indeed the latest unexpected ‘star’ to emerge from the COVID-19 task force daily press briefings,” Wakeford said in a statement to Women’s Wear Daily. “He has helped bring back ‘must-see TV’ to the masses, who are hungry for wisdom about how to best care for their family’s health and safety in this time of uncertainty. Smart is sexy, no doubt.”

Wakeford tells the fashion trade that he is the one responsible for choosing the recipient, and even divulged details of how the person is chosen each November.

“The prestige of being on the cover of People means you’re still the most talked about person in America,” he says.
