Fight Breaks Out After Coffee Cup Thrown in Mask-Related Incident at Manhattan Beach
A man was involved in an altercation with a couple after a cup of coffee was thrown on him at Manhattan Beach, California, on July 31.
James Hernandez recorded a video that shows him sitting with his friend, Matt Roy, on an outdoor bench to eat a burrito before a couple wearing masks approaches them.
“You’ll need to be wearing a mask,” the woman can be heard saying in the video.
“We’re on the other side of the fence, we don’t believe this stuff,” Hernandez responds.
The dispute between Roy and the couple escalates before the woman throws her cup toward Roy and the liquid inside spills over the man.
“Oh s***, that was dumb, " Hernandez says before Roy stands up to fight with the couple. His shirt is ripped during the scuffle.
The video then shows the man calling the police to report being assaulted by Trump supporters. Hernandez says the man will need to “get your story straight”.
“You threw the coffee first, stupid,” Roy says when the man is calling the police.
The video goes on to show Roy and Hernandez explain to the police what happened.
Hernandez told Storyful that he wore a Trump MAGA 2020 hat on the day and a body-cam on his waist. Hernandez said the police made the couple apologize, so he and Roy declined pressing charges.

1945 magazine's head-turning advice for women prompts outrage: 'The end for me'
A 1945 magazine is going viral on TikTok over a head-turning feature geared toward women on how to hold onto their husbands.
The antiquated passages from this particular edition of “Beautify Your Figure” magazine were shared on TikTok by user oldiesgoldie on July 17 and have since been viewed more than 769,000 times.
“The first tip is to share his hobbies and interests,” oldiesgoldie narrates, panning over photos of women playing golf and holding rifles — hobbies stereotypically classified as more masculine in nature.
“The next tip says, ‘Be sure you pass the breakfast table test — he may be comparing you with the slick chicks he works with at the office,'” she continues. “It then says, ‘Be his best playmate, but remember, you’re a female, so keep yourself intriguing and seductive.'”
The next one — which cautions women to be cognizant of their own laughter — is my absolute favorite.
“A woman’s life is lovely when it comes off right,” oldiesgoldie reads. “A horse laugh is best left to the ponies.”
The article also tells women to be wary of the way they carry themselves, lest they ruin their marriage with, gasp, the way they walk.
“Is your walk light and gay? Slow and weary? Heavy and clumsy? Or just right?” the magazine warns women.
Naturally, the absurd advice is being roasted on TikTok, where users cannot believe there was ever a time it was considered fit to print.
“The horse laugh would be the end for me,” one user wrote.
“Step 1: don’t be yourself,” said another.
“I would not have been able to find a man in the 40s,” admitted a third.
“Change everything about yourself until you’ve fit every expectation he has,” summed up another.
Oldiesgoldie frequently shares similar videos of archaic advice for women found in old magazines on her TikTok, where she’s amassed over 12,900 followers.
In another one of her clips, she highlights a 1946 magazine feature about the so-called “teenage technique,” which urges grown women to act more childlike and helpless to attract potential suitors. Yuck.

Reward offered for information on who put 'Trump 2020' sticker on bear
ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — A local group of activists is outraged after a black bear was recently seen in Asheville with a political sticker on its collar.
"Help Asheville Bears" (HAB) is offering a $5,000 reward for anyone who can find out who put a 'Trump 2020' sticker on the bear’s collar.
Sheila Chapman tells News 13 the black bear wandered onto her front porch in North Asheville on July 31 when she noticed something colorful on its collar.
She says bear sightings have become pretty common in her area, but she grabbed her phone to take pictures of the sticker.
"We have so many places in this world to put stickers and express our political views," Chapman says. "Using a wild animal for that is cruel and inhuman. It’s not OK."
After spotting it, she reached out to HAB. A spokesperson for the organization says this is not the first time a bear was spotted in Asheville with a political sticker on its collar.

This makes it twice that someone has put a political sticker on a bear’s collar in Asheville.
Whoever put these political stickers on these bears is cruel and heartless. HAB and our followers hope to stop and expose you. This is now the second bear this happened to, which can only mean either someone in the study is doing this or it is someone in the public. Either way, a full investigation needs to be done. “Today I was surprised to find this visitor on my front porch. We live in North Asheville and are frequently visited by bears. Our neighborhood does its best to peacefully coexist with the bears and have few problems-- and the problems we do have are usually because we forget to secure our garbage cans.
We have been visited by collared bears for the last 2-3 years. When I first started seeing the collars, I was very concerned about their comfort and safety. The collars are heavy and the bears are obviously uncomfortable, especially when becoming adapted to the heavy appliances. I was able to find out that the bears were collared by the North Carolina Urban/Suburban Bear Study and on May 12, 2019, I spoke with a member of this organization who assured me the bears were safe and that the collars were used to improve bear safety through research. The group sounded committed to protecting our Urban bears and promoting their health and well being.
That is why I was shocked to see this on the bear's collar today. I believe this is an abhorrent practice. These bears are already suffering enough with the heavy collars and metal ear mutilations. But to put a political sticker on the collar? No words can describe my anger and sadness. I have reached out to North Carolina Urban/Suburban Bear Study number that I had from May 19, 2019, as well as North Carolina Wildlife Resources, but have not heard back from either.
I hope that someone can help identify the organization and person or persons who did this and that appropriate actions are taken. This should not be hard to do because there has to be a database of bears tagged and the tagger in any credible research organization. It will be easy to identify the specific bear because we have the date, time and the exact location of the bear that can correlated with collar GPS data.

BERLIN — A German nudist had the last laugh after giving chase to a wild boar that had run off with a bag containing his laptop.
Pictures posted on social media show the naked man running after a sow and her two piglets to the mirth of fellow bathers at Berlin's Teufelssee, or Devil's Lake.
Adele Landauer, an actor and coach who says she took the pictures, wrote that the pigs first helped themselves to somebody's pizza before grabbing the bag.
When the owner realized what had happened, he “gave his all” and recovered it, she said.
“When he came back with his yellow bag in the hand we all clapped and congratulated him for his success,” she added.
Landauer said she later showed the man the pictures she had taken and “he laughed loudly and authorized me to publish them.”
Wild boars are common in the forests around Berlin and can occasionally be seen venturing through city parks in search of food.

I have a friend who's father died from sepsis after being gored in the thigh by a wild boar. He was in some remote cabin, decided to patch himself up and tough it out but I guess the tusk got deep into muscle where the infection took hold and by the time his fellow hunters found him it was too late.
He was a real asshole though so his family gave a collective sigh of relief and moved on.

The employee, a technician on a BP refinery in Western Australia, was sacked after he used an oft-parodied scene from the 2004 film Downfall by Oliver Hirschbiegel about the final days of Hitler and Nazi Germany to depict his bosses during a tense wage negotiation.
The man took BP to the Fair Work Commission (FWC) for unfair dismissal. He lost the case in September last year, after deputy president Melanie Binet sided with BP in finding the video was “inappropriate and offensive”.
But that decision was later overturned on appeal after the full bench of the commission ruled the “memetic context” of the video meant it was unreasonable to find the man was comparing his bosses to Nazis. In February the FWC ordered the man be reinstated to his job at the Kwinana oil refinery in south-west Perth.
Now, almost a year after the original decision, BP has been ordered to pay the man $200,000 for lost wages.
The company said he should have been paid less – about $150,000 – because sharing the video still amounted to misconduct. It also argued the man could have found other work during the long-running case.
But the FWC disagreed, ordering BP to pay him about $200,000 in lost salary, bonuses and superannuation.
The scene used in the video shows Hitler huddled inside his bunker with his top generals and is a powerful fictionalisation of the moment the Nazi leader realised the war was lost.
After the film’s release, it became a cultural touchstone of the internet age. On YouTube, hundreds of “Hitler rants” parodied everything from the iPad to the break-up of Oasis and Sarah Palin’s resignation as the governor of Alaska.
BP had argued the video “attributes to Hitler’s character” comments the refinery manager had made during the wage negotiations and Binet had sided with the company, saying she did not accept that “labelling something as a parody is a ‘get-out-of-jail-free card’ and necessarily means something is not offensive”.
But after his appeal victory in February, the Australian Workers’ Union claimed it as a victory for “workers rights in the digital era” and “Aussie larrikinism”.
