It's nowhere near October, but one ensemble is already on track to be named the most controversial Halloween costume of 2015.

Social media users were out in full force on Monday criticizing several Halloween retailers for offering a Caitlyn Jenner costume reminiscent of the former-athlete's Vanity Fair cover earlier this year.

While Jenner's supporters condemned the costume as "transphobic" and "disgusting" on Twitter, Spirit Halloween, a retailer that carries the costume, defended the getup.

"At Spirit Halloween, we create a wide range of costumes that are often based upon celebrities, public figures, heroes and superheroes," said Lisa Barr, senior director of marking at Spirit Halloween. "We feel that Caitlyn Jenner is all of the above and that she should be celebrated. The Caitlyn Jenner costume reflects just that."

Pepsi is releasing Peeps-flavored drinks and the internet has thoughts
article-605cdc706d6b3.gif

Yes, my friends. That is a Pepsi infused with marshmallow Peeps, which are pretty similar to eating sugar-filled fiberglass insulation and YES, soon you'll be able to drink said sugar-filled fiberglass insulation!

"Pepsi and Peeps are collaborating on a new drink that combines the two extra-sweet flavors, the companies announced Thursday. The new cola, dubbed 'Pepsi x Peeps,' mixes the taste of a Pepsi with the 'pillowy-soft and sweet' marshmallow flavor of Peeps. That makes it the 'ideal accessory and thirst quencher for springtime,' according to the companies."

"Taste is really important to customers"
said Pepsi VP Todd Kaplan. "They want sweet and they want to connect to things emotionally. Peeps has its own subculture we wanted to tap into."

If you're part of said subculture, you'll have to move fast: Pepsi is only making 3,000 cans of this stuff and you have to enter a contest to win them by posting a memorable spring photo, which is the gayest thing ever.

Not everyone was so enthusiastic, however. I'll leave you with some "less charitable" people's thoughts:

It's official. Sharon Osbourne has been cancelled.

https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/sharon-osbourne-exits-talk-232551184.html

Sharon Osbourne has exited “The Talk.” The co-host has departed the CBS talk show after coming under fire for defending Piers Morgan’s controversial comments about Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle’s revelatory interview with Oprah Winfrey earlier this month, followed by resurfaced accusations of racism made by former co-host Holly Robinson Peete. Osbourne had been on “The Talk” for all of its 11 seasons.

“Sharon Osbourne has decided to leave ‘The Talk,'” CBS said in a statement. “The events of the March 10 broadcast were upsetting to everyone involved, including the audience watching at home. As part of our review, we concluded that Sharon’s behavior toward her co-hosts during the March 10 episode did not align with our values for a respectful workplace. We also did not find any evidence that CBS executives orchestrated the discussion or blindsided any of the hosts.

“At the same time, we acknowledge the Network and Studio teams, as well as the showrunners, are accountable for what happened during that broadcast as it was clear the co-hosts were not properly prepared by the staff for a complex and sensitive discussion involving race,” the statement went on. “During this week’s hiatus, we are coordinating workshops, listening sessions and training about equity, inclusion and cultural awareness for the hosts, producers and crew. Going forward, we are identifying plans to enhance the producing staff and producing procedures to better serve the hosts, the production and, ultimately, our viewers.”

Morgan, the now-former host of ITV’s flagship show “Good Morning Britain,” said on Monday morning that he didn’t believe Markle’s claims of bullying within the Royal Family and that he did not believe that she experienced suicidality as a result of the high-stress situation. Osbourne went on to show support for her longtime friend:

. @piersmorgan I am with you. I stand by you. People forget that you’re paid for your opinion and that you’re just speaking your truth.

— Sharon Osbourne (@MrsSOsbourne) March 9, 2021

In an episode of “The Talk,” Osbourne continued to defend Morgan’s comments and got into a heated exchange with co-host Sheryl Underwood.

“Educate me, tell me when you have heard him say racist things?” Osbourne told Underwood. “I very much feel like I’m about to be put in the electric chair because I have a friend, who many people think is a racist, so that makes me a racist?”

Osbourne later backtracked her statement after receiving backlash for supporting Morgan, tweeting an apology that declared she does not condone “racism, misogyny or bullying.” Still, she later told Variety that she felt that CBS “totally blindsided” her with the discussion.

Mere hours after her apology, however, she was the subject of scandal again when Robinson Peete, one of the original hosts of “The Talk,” resurfaced claims that Osbourne complained Peete was “too ghetto” for the show, subsequently resulting in Peete’s dismissal. Peete and fellow co-host Leah Remini were released from the CBS daytime show after its first season in 2011. Though Remini made the same claim against Osbourne in a Twitter Q&A in 2012, declaring that “Sharon thought me and Holly were ‘Ghetto’, (her words) we were not funny, awkward and didn’t know ourselves and that Sharon said she asked [for] us to be fired,” Peete’s tweet made the allegations go viral on the social platform.

“The Talk” had been on hiatus as CBS conducted a probe into the events surrounding the March 10 episode.

All for her remarks about Meghan Markle. Look, no one likes either of these bitches. I've never met a single person that does. But Meghan's white passing ass just happens to be higher on the progressive stack. So we all saw this coming a mile away.

Now I guess Sharon will be seen as a member of the KKK for her remarks on The Talk and past alleged comments to co-hosts. Never mind that her calling Holly Robinson Peete "ghetto" was not racially motivated. She called Leah Remini the same thing. Maybe she was right though. I can't see either of them suitable for the daytime hen party circuit.

And apparently she called Sara Gilbert a fish muncher or something to that tune.

As much as I hate Sharon and her cunty face this is all way overblown. Boohoo for Meghan!

Oh well. At least we'll probably never have to see Sharon on TV again.

>At a hearing on March 9, Stolz's aunt Juana Salcedo, who raised him after he was orphaned, read an impact statement in court.

Kids mom and dad died so he was raised by his aunt.

Imagine bullying the shrimpy kid with a dead mom and dad and then beating him to death and getting away with it.

And they tell us that blacks are the oppressed ones. Heh.

Probably TMI but I once had a niglet spread a rumour that I was gay to the entire (massively homophobic) school because he hated me for no reason. Not joking, I never did anything to him. He got away with a slap on the wrist, of course. They made him apologize to me, but in his “apology” he literally said to my face, in front of the teacher, that he only hated me because other kids said I was “weird and creepy.” Around blacks, never relax.

F AA inspector unable to reach Starbase in time for launch today. Postponed to no earlier than tomorrow.

So I remember all the musk fans twatting about how biden administration was handing space to China by hobbling spaceX

Certainly seems like they might have had a point. Having to delay a launch because the faa inspector couldn't make it in time is the most retarded shit I've ever heard

A confusing and unintelligible tweet released by U.S. Strategic Command (Stratcom) Sunday night drew ridicule and thousands of shares on Twitter after the military arm tweeted “;l;;gmlxzssaw.”
The garbled message, released at 7:48 p.m., received more than 11,000 retweets and hundreds of comments before it was deleted roughly half an hour later.
“Apologizes for any confusion. Please disregard this post,” Stratcom, based at Offutt Air Force Base, Neb., tweeted quickly thereafter, then deleted that apology.
The bizarre message drew speculation that it was the military’s inadvertent release of the “nuclear launch codes,” jokes that a cat was allowed on the keyboard and suggestions that the message was meant for extraterrestrial viewers.
The tweet also got some sympathy messages, including from Canada's military, which tweeted: “These things happen. This might even happen to you one day. It’s okay, folks.”
Stratcom, which is in charge of the military’s nuclear forces and deterring missile attacks, in 2018 was criticized for a New Year's Eve tweet joking about dropping bombs.
"#TimesSquare tradition rings in the #NewYear by dropping the big ball...if ever needed, we are #ready to drop something much, much bigger," Stratcom tweeted.
The agency later apologized and said the message was in "poor taste."

It's not a mass shooting just a thug battle turned deadly so I'll put it here.

https://6abc.com/deadly-shooting-at-philadelphia-mills-mall-food-court;-suspect-sought/10457328/

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Hundreds of people were inside the Philadelphia Mills mall Monday evening when shots were fired in the food court.

Police said a 21-year-old man was shot multiple times in the chest and was pronounced dead at the scene.

It happened around 5 p.m. in the 1400 block of Franklin Mills Circle near the mall's orange entrance.

Action News obtained the dispatch calls that were recorded just moments after the shooting.

"Near the food court...reports of gunshots from inside...someone possibly shooting in that mall...a person with a gun," dispatch said.

Police say it all began with a fistfight between a large group of people inside the former Franklin Mills mall.

Part of the fight can be seen in security video from a food court shop that was posted on Instagram; workers clear out as people begin to run away from the fight.

"At some point or another, an individual pulled out a weapon, fired at least five rounds into our decedent," said Sgt. Eric Gripp with the Philadelphia Police Department.

Action News is told the victim posted a video on social media before the shooting, sharing that he was going to be at the mall.

Action News has learned that the shooting victim is the adopted stepson of a Philadelphia District Attorney's Office detective.

No other injuries were reported.

Yaimmie Letona of Trenton, New Jersey was sitting three tables away with her family when the gunfire broke out.

"We went to the bathroom and when we came back (the shooting happened). My mom and me started like running. Everybody started running, so I didn't know what to do. I was going crazy. Being pregnant, my pressure went down, up," said Letona.

In the wake of mass shootings across the country, the shooting proved to be a terrifying experience for shoppers who left their shopping carts behind and ran.

"They just told us to start running, get out of the mall because somebody is shooting. So we started running, left carts and everything, "said Marcella Walls of Mickleton, New Jersey.

The mall was put on lockdown as officers searched for the gunman.

"Workers inside the mall, the mall is very large, locked themselves down inside so we had our K-9 and SWAT team go through the entire mall one business at a time to make sure that the shooter was not on location," said Gripp.

The mall remained closed for the rest of Monday night.

Anyone with any information on the whereabouts of the shooter is asked to call police at 215-686-TIPS.

I want to add that this is a predominately white neighborhood. It's just that the mall is very large and home to the largest Walmart in the city or general area and is easier to get to than Neshaminy or Oxford Valley. So you can imagine what shops here. A lot of cops live in this part of the city. You can walk right into Bucks County from this area in just a few minutes. Areas in the far northeast near Bensalem are not quite the same as West or North Philly in terms of demographics and crime. Locals aren't going to take this as it's billed as a safe family community. Hope it doesn't end in white flight because it's one of the few nice areas left.

Fucking ghetto ass thugs.

I miss decent middle class malls. The ones that still exist have turned into hood rat infested literal ghettos. You can literally get fucking mugged in some of these places. The only malls that haven't decayed in this way are the richie rich malls with Apple Stores and shit in them and thuggish security that beats the fuck out of and gets rid of anyone remotely scruffy.

Czech billionaire Petr Kellner, the tiny Central European country's richest man, was among five people killed in a helicopter crash in Alaska's backcountry over the weekend while he and several other guests at a local ski lodge were on a trip.

The Airbus AS350 B3 carrying Kellner and the others crashed in unknown circumstances about 50 miles east of Anchorage at roughly 1835ET on Saturday, according to local officials quoted in the Times of London.

The others who died were Gregory Harms, 52, of Colorado, Benjamin Larochaix, 50, of the Czech Republic, and two Alaskans, Sean McMannany, 38, and the pilot, Zachary Russel, 33, of Anchorage. Another individual who was on board was in serious but stable condition.

The passengers had been flying from the Tordrillo Mountain Lodge (about a 40 minute flight from Anchorage, a spokeswoman for the lodge said) at the time the helicopter crashed.

Kellner and the Coloradoan Larochaix were said to be "loyal and frequent” guests at the lodge, while Harms was a pioneering heli-ski guide in Alaska who had worked at the lodge for years.

The spokeswoman added: “This news is devastating to our staff, the community in which we operate and the families of the deceased." The lodge says it is the longest operating heli-skiing lodge in Alaska. Packages start at $15,000 per person.

For those who aren't familiar with it, heli-skiing involves off-trail, downhill skiing or snowboarding reached by helicopter, instead of a ski lift.

Kellner is the latest uber-rich person to perish in a US helicopter accident. The most high-profile figure, of course, is Kobe Bryant, who died in Southern California last January.

The next step in the process, COVID and the collapse of major anchor chains like Sears have massacred most of those malls-in-decline. It's a pisser. I miss the days when I could go to a mall with an arcade and a mid-tier food court, play some Street Fighter and eat a gyro for lunch.
