It's nowhere near October, but one ensemble is already on track to be named the most controversial Halloween costume of 2015.

Social media users were out in full force on Monday criticizing several Halloween retailers for offering a Caitlyn Jenner costume reminiscent of the former-athlete's Vanity Fair cover earlier this year.

While Jenner's supporters condemned the costume as "transphobic" and "disgusting" on Twitter, Spirit Halloween, a retailer that carries the costume, defended the getup.

"At Spirit Halloween, we create a wide range of costumes that are often based upon celebrities, public figures, heroes and superheroes," said Lisa Barr, senior director of marking at Spirit Halloween. "We feel that Caitlyn Jenner is all of the above and that she should be celebrated. The Caitlyn Jenner costume reflects just that."

How much do you wanna bet the parents of these little monsters are in complete denial right now? Complete with "Well, my precious angel would never do anything like that?" The kids might be little abominable shits, but there has to have been something going on in their home lives that influenced this behavior.

Otherwise, this bullshit is just horrific. I don't even think sending these kids to Boys Town would help rehabilitate them, honestly (and given the descriptions of how some of those brats acted, they wouldn't live in the village, they'd just go to the Residential Treatment Center, which is the only locked facility in the entire place for the highest of the high risk kids). You do something this fucked up once in your life, damn straight you'll probably do something like it again later on down the line.

I hope the families of these little darlings are investigated. The rage a child would have to have in order to set another kid on fire means the kid's home life must be bad. I hope the victim recovers quickly and the punishment is extended to the parents.

I would not be totally sure of that. While an abusive background helps, stupidity is also a big factor. I doubt there is any legal option to punish the parents unless they tried to do away with evidence.

Actually, I think the ones that need investigation are the school facilities and the tardmakers.
You don't let your 10 year old tard wander away without adult supervision. If it is not little psychos, it will be wild animals, dangerous objects, maybe playing catch-the-car. Also it is best if you make sure he can't get to any electrical outlets either. Or stoves. Or sharp objects. Why is institutialisation not an enforced option anymore?

Above all, you don't let them play with kids who have a history of abusing the poor tardling.

A game of "Kick the Autistic" gone too far.

Real talk though, the kids are fucked, doing something like this, at the age they are, isn't excusable, even with a shit upbringing. They're most likely just psychopaths, and I hope to God they get more than a slap on the wrist/juvie.

From what I read, one of them was really out of control. Most likely the ringleader. Kids being kids, if the loudest one comes up with a.. hehe, exceptional idea, the others follow suit. This happens a lot, but usually only ends with some less serious injury like an idiot with a concussion after riding the bike without a helmet.

That was wildly inappropriate.

Thanks. I always try. Tell me it ain't so, though.

I wouldn't bet that hard on this hypothesis.

Some people are just born evil.

This has happened twice in the state of Indiana, once under my governorship, and we responded by abducting both criminal boys for twelve weeks beating them senseless with my bare hands every single day until their victim had recovered. Then we marched them into the hospital room where he was staying and have the boys tell the little autistic boy that they really were his friends. Common sense, Hoosier state solutions.

So that's like 6 threads now on the front page about children having horrible things happening to them.
I know, right? This isn't the stuff I wanna read when I'm weepy and emotional and all gross and full of hormones.

God, that's fucked, though. I can't imagine the sort of evil it takes to set someone on fire that's alive.
