It's nowhere near October, but one ensemble is already on track to be named the most controversial Halloween costume of 2015.

Social media users were out in full force on Monday criticizing several Halloween retailers for offering a Caitlyn Jenner costume reminiscent of the former-athlete's Vanity Fair cover earlier this year.

While Jenner's supporters condemned the costume as "transphobic" and "disgusting" on Twitter, Spirit Halloween, a retailer that carries the costume, defended the getup.

"At Spirit Halloween, we create a wide range of costumes that are often based upon celebrities, public figures, heroes and superheroes," said Lisa Barr, senior director of marking at Spirit Halloween. "We feel that Caitlyn Jenner is all of the above and that she should be celebrated. The Caitlyn Jenner costume reflects just that."

Giant rats eats three month old baby girl alive after mother left home to go partying in South Africa.

"A three-month-old baby girl has been eaten alive by giant rats after her mother left her at home alone to go partying. The child was devoured by rodents as she lay on a bed - and neighbours have called for her mother to 'rot in jail'. The 26-year-old mother, who has been arrested for child neglect, returned home to discover the horrific scene in the township area of Katlehong in Johannesburg.

Thankfully the girl's twin brother, named Lucky, was spared a similar painful death, as he was taken out with his parent on the all-night drinking binge.

Describing the horror scene, a neighbour said: 'The baby could only have died a painful death. The infant’s tongue, eyes and fingers had all been eaten.

"Besides the missing body parts, the remains of her body had bites and wounds all over that were inflicted by the sharp teeth of the rats."
“This woman must rot in jail. She does not deserve to be a mother.”

The surviving twin is now in the care of his 28-year-old father and his new girlfriend.

It is not the first time children have been eaten by rats in South African townships. In 2011 Lunathi Dwadwa, three, was killed and eaten in a shack outside Cape Town in 2011 as she slept on the floor beside her parents.

When her mother discovered her lifeless body, she saw that her daughter's eyes had been gouged out. Bukiswa Dwadwa, 27, said: 'I can't forget how ugly my child looked after her eyes were ripped out.

'She was eaten from her eyebrows to her cheeks, her other eye was hanging by a piece of flesh.'"

New research links the number of social media platforms a person uses with risk of depression and anxiety.

“It may be that people who suffer from symptoms of depression or anxiety, or both, tend to subsequently use a broader range of social media outlets. For example, they may be searching out multiple avenues for a setting that feels comfortable and accepting,” says Primack. “However, it could also be that trying to maintain a presence on multiple platforms may actually lead to depression and anxiety. More research will be needed to tease that apart.”

I'm amazed nobody was hurt, though it looked like no matter what drugs the guy was on, he didn't try to hit anybody.

So those who use any combination of Facebook, Tumblr, Reddit and Twitter are in bad shape mentally. Good to know.

Millions of people in India dodge human excrement in the street on a daily basis, while at the same time trying to avoid the horrible smell that permeates the air. Enter: The Google Toilet Locator.

Within the next 15 days, India's Ministry of Urban Development plans to launch the Google Toilet Locator in partnership with the tech giant, allowing people in India to find the nearest clean toilet using Google Maps on their phone. The technology is based on crowdsourcing, similar to the way apps like Yelp provide information on restaurants.
