It's nowhere near October, but one ensemble is already on track to be named the most controversial Halloween costume of 2015.

Social media users were out in full force on Monday criticizing several Halloween retailers for offering a Caitlyn Jenner costume reminiscent of the former-athlete's Vanity Fair cover earlier this year.

While Jenner's supporters condemned the costume as "transphobic" and "disgusting" on Twitter, Spirit Halloween, a retailer that carries the costume, defended the getup.

"At Spirit Halloween, we create a wide range of costumes that are often based upon celebrities, public figures, heroes and superheroes," said Lisa Barr, senior director of marking at Spirit Halloween. "We feel that Caitlyn Jenner is all of the above and that she should be celebrated. The Caitlyn Jenner costume reflects just that."

Man Accused Of Urinating On Family During Metallica Concert
http://www.blabbermouth.net/news/man-accused-of-urinating-on-family-during-metallica-concert/

I'll admit I was disappoint that the man wasn't from Florida.

A New Mexico man was arrested for allegedly urinating on a family at METALLICA's concert Friday night in Glendale, Arizona.

Daniel Francis Daddio, of Albuquerque, is suspected of urinating on a man and woman and a 10-year-old girl, according to court records obtained by 12News.

Daddio allegedly began urinating on the family, who were seated in a row in front of him at the concert at University of Phoenix Stadium, at around 9 p.m. The father told Arizona state troopers that "all three of his family members felt warm liquid washing over their backs and legs," according to court documents. After turning around to investigate, the father reportedly "observed Daniel Francis Daddio standing behind them in the row of seats just above theirs with his penis out of his pants and in his hands… Daddio was urinating on all three of his family members."

Court records say the father confronted Daddio about what he was doing, but the the 44-year-old reportedly just "shrugged." The father then reported the event to stadium employees, who notified the Department of Public Safety.

A DPS offer responded to the location and was pointed to Daddio by the father, records said.

Daddio denied the incident ever occurred, but was arrested at about 9:40 p.m. Daddio's ticket confirmed he was sitting directly behind the family, records said.

Daddio made his first court appearance over the weekend.

During Daddio's arraignment, the judge declared: "I have to say in the 15 years I've been on the bench, this is one of the most disgusting scenarios I've ever read. In any event, really inappropriate," according to Phoenix's Fox 10.

Daddio was released from jail. He faces disorderly conduct and indecent exposure charges.

Daddio is scheduled to appear in court again on August 18.

He was intoxicated. But one of the victims is a child and his wang was hanging out. So this may not bode very well for Daddio here. It doesn't help that he looks like the type of guy that likes peeing on children.

Florida already met its quota of strange shit at concerts when Jim Morrison exposed himself in the 60s. It's more of a Texas thing from when Ozzy Osbourne pissed on an Alamo monument.

Wondering if your kid is trans? Good news, the Associated Press has you covered.
http://abcnews.go.com/Lifestyle/wireStory/wondering-child-transgender-tips-49072589
How can a parent know if their child is transgender? What separates a young boy who might be transgender from one with a vivid imagination who likes to dress up in his sister's dresses? What do you do if your daughter tells you she's a boy?

The Associated Press spoke to gender experts to answer some of parents' most commonly asked questions.

———

MY SON LIKES TO WEAR DRESSES. IS THIS A PHASE OR SOMETHING MORE?

"My answer is, we don't know," says Diane Ehrensaft, a developmental and clinical psychologist, director of mental health at the University of California, San Francisco's Child and Adolescent Gender Center and author of "The Gender Creative Child."

"What we know is, you have a son who likes princess dresses. I would say get him the dresses. Have your child feel free to choose. Maybe they'll stop wearing dresses. Maybe they'll grow up to be gay."

Transgender children will be insistent, consistent and persistent about their gender dysphoria, she says.

"It's not something the child says one time and it goes away."

For critics who question whether preschool-age kids should be allowed to "socially transition," Ehrensaft says: "We expect a 2-year-old to know 'I am boy. I am girl.' So why can't that also apply to transgender children?"

———

DISTRESS VS. HAPPINESS

"If I'm a kid who occasionally wants to put on my mom's high-heeled shoes or wear my mom's princess dress, I'm not the kid who wants to live as a girl. I'm the boy who occasionally wants to wear girl's clothes," says Johanna Olson-Kennedy, medical director of The Center for Transyouth Health and Development at Children's Hospital in Los Angeles.

The important thing to ask is whether your child is in distress.

"Are you having daily battles about clothing before school?" Olson-Kennedy says. "There are some things that are pretty universal. Is this the kid that everyone is trying to give Mutant Ninja Turtles to, and what they really want is the gifts their sisters are getting?"

Using a child's happiness and health as a guide is critical, she says.

———

GO AWAY FOR A WEEKEND

It can also help for parents to get away somewhere with their child and allow the child to call the shots in terms of their gender, such as letting them use a different pronoun or wear a dress or other clothing of their choice, Olson-Kennedy says.

"Do it somewhere where you're not going to see people you know, if that's an issue for you," she says. "Do a weekend as a different gender, and see what you learn.

"People have said this over and over again: 'Oh, my God. I saw a side of my child I had never seen before.'"

———

HOW CAN YOU TELL?

Though there are no set rules, Ehrensaft says some early signals can provide information about whether a child is transgender. They include:

— Certain actions at a very young age, such as toddlers pulling barrettes from their hair, grabbing for their sister's dress and dolls, or throwing away their trucks.

— The use of verbs regarding gender. Instead of "I wish I was a girl," a transgender child will say, "I am a girl."

— Frustration over their genitals. By around age 3, children understand "penis equals boy, and vagina equals girl," Ehrensaft said. "Often those are the kids who cry out, 'Why did God get it wrong? Mommy, can you put me back inside so I can come out like my sister?'"

— Taking "gender expansion play" seriously. Many young boys like to play dress-up in their sisters' princess costumes, twirling around and then moving on to other toys, Ehrensaft said.

A transgender child "also wants to get into his sister's closet, but he's not going to go for the princess dress — he's going to go for her school uniform," she says. "He's going to put on her everyday clothes because he wants to be a regular girl, not a pretend princess."

Old story, but still interesting:

Law enforcement took more stuff from people than burglars did last year
By Christopher Ingraham

Here's an interesting factoid about contemporary policing: In 2014, for the first time ever, law enforcement officers took more property from American citizens than burglars did. Martin Armstrong pointed this out at his blog, Armstrong Economics, last week.

Officers can take cash and property from people without convicting or even charging them with a crime — yes, really! — through the highly controversial practice known as civil asset forfeiture. Last year, according to the Institute for Justice, the Treasury and Justice departments deposited more than $5 billion into their respective asset forfeiture funds. That same year, the FBI reports that burglary losses topped out at $3.5 billion.

Armstrong claims that "the police are now taking more assets than the criminals," but this isn't exactly right: The FBI also tracks property losses from larceny and theft, in addition to plain ol' burglary. If you add up all the property stolen in 2014, from burglary, theft, motor vehicle theft and other means, you arrive at roughly $12.3 billion, according to the FBI. That's more than double the federal asset forfeiture haul.

[In tough times, police start seizing a lot more stuff]

One other point: Those asset forfeiture deposit amounts are not necessarily the best indicator of a rise in the use of forfeiture. "In a given year, one or two high-dollar cases may produce unusually large amounts of money — with a portion going back to victims — thereby telling a noisy story of year-to-year activity levels," the Institute for Justice explains. A big chunk of that 2014 deposit, for instance, was the $1.7 billion Bernie Madoff judgment, most of which flowed back to the victims.

For that reason, the net assets of the funds are usually seen as a more stable indicator — those numbers show how much money is left over in the funds each year after the federal government takes care of various obligations, like payments to victims. Since this number can reflect monies taken over multiple calendar years, it's less comparable to the annual burglary statistics.

Still, even this more stable indicator hit $4.5 billion in 2014, according to the Institute for Justice — higher again than the burglary losses that year.

One final caveat is that these are only the federal totals and don't reflect how much property is seized by state and local police each year. Reliable data for all 50 states is unavailable, but the Institute of Justice found that the total asset forfeiture haul for 14 states topped $250 million in 2013. The grand 50-state total would probably be much higher.

Still, boil down all the numbers and caveats above and you arrive at a simple fact: In the United States, in 2014, more cash and property transferred hands via civil asset forfeiture than via burglary. The total value of asset forfeitures was more than one-third of the total value of property stolen by criminals in 2014. That represents something of a sea change in the way police do business — and it's prompting plenty of scrutiny of the practice.

It's hopeless. The "Ceasefire" lasted all of 41 hours before someone was gunned down in the middle of a street.

its like #hashtags don't do anything other than virtual signal
I understand that the Ceasefire wasn't just a pussywhipped social media campaign; they put some real life effort and organization into it and still failed. The main organizers contacted many of the local gangs and criminal groups through an ex-gang outreach/support network and got all of them to commit to the ceasefire.

Hempstead woman charged after allegedly stabbing dog in face:
Article said:
A Hempstead mother was arrested after allegedly stabbing a dog in the face.

Stephanie Penado was charged Wednesday with aggravated cruelty to animals after prosecutors say the 26-year-old "intentionally stabbed her sister's dog several times with a large kitchen knife on his face and back."

Penado stabbed the dog because she said she was upset that the husky bit her 1-year-old son, according to police.

Penado pleaded not guilty to the charges and was ordered to have a mental health evaluation. She is due back in court Friday.

Penado's sister was upset to see News 12 outside her Linden Place apartment Wednesday and threatened to call the police. She did not comment about the case.

Some neighbors who spoke with News 12 off camera called the alleged stabbing an outrageous overreaction. Others said that they may have done the same thing if the dog had bit their child.

The dog is currently being treated at North Shore Animal League.
Hempstead's a shithole, so I'm not surprised excessive animal cruelty is going on over there.

Man Tries To Smuggle Cheese To Russia
The article is in Russian, but the point is that someone decided to stuff 99 kg of Finnish cheese in his van's body panels.

That's not even some extra-special super expensive cheese, in fact it's cheapass supermarket dairy-shelf stuff.

Motherfucking cheese.

http://www.harpersbazaar.com/celebrity/latest/a11652745/kim-kardashian-pizza-place-closed/

Much like the rest of us mere mortals, not even Kim Kardashian West is immune to a late-night pizza craving. Last night, somewhere out in the Kardashian wonderland otherwise known as Calabasas, the reality star needed a piece of pizza (understandable), so she decided to take action herself.

Because every day is a fashion show and even a pizzeria could act as your runway, Kim threw on gold lace-up gladiator heels, a Gucci fanny pack, denim Bermuda shorts, and a tank for her well-dressed pizza run. It was all going wonderfully—maybe she would even splurge and get a side of garlic knots—until she made it to the door of Manny's Pizzeria in LA...

hbz-kim-closed-pizzeria-embed2-1502202182.jpg

CLOSED?!?!

In a shocking turn of events, Kim didn't make it there for a slice before the pizzeria's 10 PM closing time. We've all been there before, the heartbreak is real.
