It's nowhere near October, but one ensemble is already on track to be named the most controversial Halloween costume of 2015.

Social media users were out in full force on Monday criticizing several Halloween retailers for offering a Caitlyn Jenner costume reminiscent of the former-athlete's Vanity Fair cover earlier this year.

While Jenner's supporters condemned the costume as "transphobic" and "disgusting" on Twitter, Spirit Halloween, a retailer that carries the costume, defended the getup.

"At Spirit Halloween, we create a wide range of costumes that are often based upon celebrities, public figures, heroes and superheroes," said Lisa Barr, senior director of marking at Spirit Halloween. "We feel that Caitlyn Jenner is all of the above and that she should be celebrated. The Caitlyn Jenner costume reflects just that."

The Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC), a far-left nonprofit known for its "hate group" designations, has surpassed a half billion dollars in total assets and now has $121 million parked offshore, according to the group's most recent financial statements.

The SPLC, which is based in Montgomery, Ala., has not publicly posted its most recent financial statements on its website. However, the organization applied for renewal in the state of California days ago and submitted a number of documents pertaining to its financial standing including its most recent audited statement and tax forms for calendar year 2018, which covers Nov. 1, 2017 to Oct. 31, 2018.

According to the filings submitted to California's Office of Attorney General, the group reported total assets of $518 million from November 2017 to the Oct. 31, 2018, an increase of $41 million from the $477 million in total assets it reported on its previous year's tax forms.

The SPLC's assets increased despite its total revenue falling by $15 million last year. The SPLC hauled in $136 million in total revenue throughout 2017. This number fell to $121 million in 2018. Its contributions and grants also fell by more than $20 million from 2017 to 2018, from $132 million to $111 million.

Despite the fall in revenue, the SPLC's vast investment portfolio expanded in 2018, which included a drastic increase in the amount of money it has parked overseas. By the end of 2018, its non-U.S. equity funds rose to $121 million, an uptick of nearly $30 million from the $92 million it had parked in offshore investments throughout 2017.

While little is known about its actual transfers to offshore entities, in 2017 the Washington Free Beacon discovered foreign forms from the group that showed a small fraction of its previous transactions to a number of entities located in the Cayman Islands. Those foreign forms are not required to be publicly disclosed by the SPLC and are the only known forms showing the nature of its transfers to offshore entities. The SPLC also has interests in Bermuda and the British Virgin Islands.

An elderly man reportedly killed a seagull in front of crying children when it stole a chip from him.

Mother-of-three Rachael Beer says the incident occurred at Weston-super-Mare's seaside resort at 5.30pm on Tuesday.

The 40-year-old claims the man grabbed a seagull by its feet and swung it against a wall after it stole food from his takeaway container.

Her graphic image of the dead seagull and a pensioner she claims is the man have now gone viral on social media and the RSPCA have confirmed they are investigating the incident.

Rachael, who manages Luigi’s Sweet and Rock shop in the town, said: 'I saw a seagull squawking and then taking a chip from a man’s plate. Suddenly he then grabbed it by its feet and swung it against the wall.

'I heard one of the mums say "why did you do that in front of my child?" and he said "it’s vermin, you should teach your children about vermin".

'I was like, "oh my god, that man has just tried to kill a seagull". I walked up to the gull and took a photo of it and then him.

'I said ‘why did you do that’ and he just shrugged his shoulders and walked away.'

Children were visibly shaken by the alleged attack with some even reduced to tears, Rachael claimed.

She was stunned and deeply angered and decided to confront the man. She said despite the blow, the seagull hadn’t been killed outright - but was later put down by a vet.

'The seagull wasn’t dead at first,' she said. 'We could see its eyes twitching. Thankfully a passerby came and took it to the vet. 'Seagulls are a problem but to kill a seagull like that is just wrong.'

Despite having run a business on the seafront for many years, Rachael said that it was the worst seagull incident she has seen.

She added: 'The problem has got worse this year but I’ve never seen anything like this before.'

An RSPCA spokesperson said: 'This is a shocking incident and a completely unacceptable way to treat an animal, it must have been very upsetting for witnesses to the attack.

'We are grateful to the members of the public who were able to get this gull to a vet so it did not have to suffer further. Anyone with information about this attack is urged to contact the RSPCA.'

A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Constabulary said: 'A man was reported as having harmed a seagull in Regent Street, Weston-super-Mare, at about 5.50pm on Tuesday 17 July.

'He was described as being in his 60s, white, about 5ft 8ins tall and with greying hair. He was wearing pink shorts, a blue and pink checked shirt and brown sandals.

'Anyone with information about the incident can contact the RSPCA or get in touch with police.

'It is an offence to kill or harm a seagull under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981.'

A man who killed a seagull when it tried to steal his chips has been ordered to serve a curfew.

John Llewellyn-Jones, 64, of Bishopston Road, Cardiff, "smashed" the bird against a wall during a trip to Weston-super-Mare in July 2018.

He denied breaching the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 but was found guilty at North Somerset Magistrates' Court on Tuesday.

The RSPCA said: "He cared more for his chips than what he did to the gull."

Mr Llewellyn-Jones was ordered to serve a 12-week curfew between the hours of 20:00 and 08:00, pay costs of £750 and an £85 victim surcharge.

RSPCA inspector Simon Evans said: "This was an unthinkable and despicable way to treat an animal.

"The gull was smashed against a wall by the man... and bystanders, including children, had to look on as the man killed the gull."

The RSPCA advise people not to feed gulls and to dispose of rubbish properly, particularly in seaside areas more prone to the birds.

This is hilarious. I've known people who deal with these fucking flying rats by feeding them alka seltzer and watching them go boom. Seagulls are horrible animals and no one should be charged defending themselves against one.

Fisherman charged with fraud after allegedly cheating at bass tournament

A Wood County grand jury has indicted a fisherman accused of cheating in a fishing tournament.

Terry Keith Long from Bridgeport allegedly trimmed the tail of a bass to meet weigh-in requirements, in order to qualify for a tournament prize at the McDonald Big Bass Splash on Lake Fork, according to a release by Texas Parks & Wildlife.

Fishing regulations for Lake Fork require a length limit in the 16-24" slot, meaning only bass 16 inches and less, or 24 inches or greater, in length may be kept, according to the Texas Parks & Wildlife website.

Long was charged with fraud at a freshwater fishing tournament, which is a third-degree felony, Texas Parks & Wildlife reported.

He was arrested on Friday and posted a $25,000 bond, the Wood County Sheriff's Office reported online.

Let's be honest, it's just pure, unadulterated, vile resentment. Shatner and Notch have long been targeted by them because they just cannot reconcile the fact that these problematic wrong-thinkers are so rich, famous and untouchable.

It's the same reason with them constantly going after Kanye. Kanye likes Trump, and he's open about it, and it drives them fucking NUTS that they can't deplatform or hurt him in any meaningful way. They are soccer moms angrily shaking their picket signs to no effect whatsoever.
