It's nowhere near October, but one ensemble is already on track to be named the most controversial Halloween costume of 2015.

Social media users were out in full force on Monday criticizing several Halloween retailers for offering a Caitlyn Jenner costume reminiscent of the former-athlete's Vanity Fair cover earlier this year.

While Jenner's supporters condemned the costume as "transphobic" and "disgusting" on Twitter, Spirit Halloween, a retailer that carries the costume, defended the getup.

"At Spirit Halloween, we create a wide range of costumes that are often based upon celebrities, public figures, heroes and superheroes," said Lisa Barr, senior director of marking at Spirit Halloween. "We feel that Caitlyn Jenner is all of the above and that she should be celebrated. The Caitlyn Jenner costume reflects just that."

God, people are so hapless with how to deal with these kinda things. She could have shelled out 50 bucks to 100 bucks to create a website with her own name in the url and use it as a business card or something like that. Or just harass facebook and tell them to remove the child pornography that is the page and threaten to either go legal or use press.

The last thing you want to do, is use press. Now her butt's footprint on the web is big enough to never be forgotten and all her friends will be chuckling behind her back.

She says she tried it, but I'm still doubtful.

I think the Buzzfeed story is an improvement on the Facebook thing. It probably would have been better to get friends to mass report it until one of the content moderation Filipinos checked the right box, but I'm not that surprised that 'CP' reports didn't work. It's not like this was a page with a picture of or even an erotic story about her 15-year old butthole.

I think FB should have nuked the page when she complained about it, but FB is basically created to make its users suffer so I'm not surprised they didn't.

The cheapest way to deal with it is about three bucks in certified mail. Here's the process:

1. Go to your secretary of state's website and find Facebook's "Agent for Process of Service." This is the person (or department) whose job it is to deal with shit so that Facebook doesn't get sued.
2. Write a certified letter clearly explaining why you're so assmad you're considering suing, demand that they retain related evidence and take specific action by a specific date, and say that you will consider your legal options including small claims court if they do not do so.
3. Wait until the specific date. You'll probably get what you want if it's easy compared to getting sued. Taking down "Samantha Rae Anna Jesperson's Butthole" is the obvious fucking answer for the paralegal whose performance review matrix includes "how many times did we get sued on letters you were responsible for handling" with a target number of "zero".

Example letter for the lazy fucks here:

"To whom it may concern:

My name is Samantha Rae Anna Jesperson. It has recently come to my attention that Facebook is hosting a business page called "Samantha Rae Anna Jesperson's Butthole". For your convenience, you may find this page at %URL. I consider this a libelous false implication that I am a prostitute. On %DATE, I sent a request through Facebook's help support to take down the page, which has been nonresponsive. Retain all records regarding the creation of this page and the support decision-making regarding it, including the dates, times, and personnel who reviewed it.

I require you to remove this webpage and reimburse me $3.15 for having to send this certified mail to you. Send confirmation that you've removed the webpage and reimbursement for the letter by %DATE. Otherwise, I will be force to consider my legal options, including filing a lawsuit in small claims court."

The $3.15 for certified mail or whatever is because fuck them for making you send the letter.

The overall vibe you're going for is "I am a goddamn professional who is documenting the fuck out of what you are and aren't doing. I am making an exceedingly reasonable demand. I'm going to set myself a calendar reminder for the day after I mentioned in the letter, check my mail, and either see $3.15 and an apology in it or calmly walk down to small claims because I'm a professional who makes people accede to my reasonable demands like they have to."

No, it's definitely been was there for awhile.

She has plenty of posts in silly reddit forums, but, she's a typical American female. The only shocking thing is that pictures of her butthole don't seem to be out there. I see no reason to disbelieve her in regards this issue.

The fire destroyed the house in the city of Clinton

A mother and her six children, including a one-year-old baby, died after a fire destroyed their house early on Saturday in the US state of Mississippi, officials say.

The father was the only survivor of the blaze that engulfed the wooden house in the city of Clinton.

He was taken to a hospital suffering from smoke inhalation and second-degree burns.

The cause of the fire is being investigated.

Local officials said there was no suspicion of "foul play", and told US media an electrical failure could have caused the blaze.

The house in Clinton, some 10 miles (16km) from the state capital, Jackson, had been built around 1951. Burglar bars could be seen in some windows, which could have prevented the family from escaping.

The mother was a primary school teacher aged 33 and the children - five boys and one girl - ranged in ages from one to 15, local authorities said.

"They were really good folks... The whole neighbourhood is just distraught about this whole thing because it's just devastating," a neighbour quoted by NBC News said.

Five of the children were found huddled in one bedroom while the mother and another child were in a different bedroom, Fire Chief Jeff Blackledge was quoted by the New York Times as saying. The father was injured as he tried to save his family, he said.

When they arrived at the scene, they found the father "worried and concerned", said Mark Jones, City of Clinton's director of communications. "He didn't want to leave the scene... He was very concerned about his family."

On Facebook, the City of Clinton said it had been a "tragic day", adding: "We ask this community to wrap each other in prayers and kindness as we all grieve together."
