Yes, but copyright for what? Was it a music he used? I mean, I cannot remember for the life of me anything in particular in that video that could be construed as property of X.

I say someone say, i think on reddit, that the video is almost a 1 to 1 copy of a article from some website like mental floss, but i haven't looked into that myself.

This on the other hand sounds kind of bad on Historian, but I need proofs and off the bat I don't buy it. Even then, the whole little reenactment was fantastic assuming the text was nicked verbatim and he didn't add a source.

It wasn't hard to find the Mental Floss article. (archive)

There are some pretty huge similarities but Id still say Historian put in enough work to make it his own even if he didnt cite the article.

Sorry to necro this comment, just read through the last two years of the thread.

I really wanted to like Sumito and his content as well.

I subscribed to him after his initial In the Field collab when he only had a few thousand subscribers.

Found his story endearing about how IH contacted him out of the blue when he was a nobody working a deadend failed engineering factory job and how they met in person when IH was stateside for a convention.

His channel grew to a decent size under 100k. He eventually quit his job and did YT FT. His content was all over the place: meme reviews, fastfood reviews, unboxing of stuff people would send him (lots of snacks), Twitch gamer streams.

He always seemed to be struggling to find his groove, suffering health issues like COVID, appendicitis and depression, making being a YT content creator look hard.

I unsubbed sometime in 2022 when he took a pro- troon take in one of his vids.

Jesus christ the writing is so abysmal it's insane. The memes undersold how bad things are. I had to tap out when they reached the rat looking woman, like holy shit it's literally forbidden to make good looking women by most devs to not hurt the feelings of trannies and feminists.
