It's so cringe, the message, the writing
What is even the message of Forspoken? If you are a sheboon you are special and will suffer no negative consequences for your selfish actions?
Like with usual male heroes, having them be selfish or complacant ends with instant karma of losing relatives. The heroine in Forspoken doesn't lose anything no matter how bad her actions are.
 
I like IH and his gang but I have to ask... Why? If you're going to comedically review/recap/roast a game shouldn't you actually play it?
It's like the old Retsupurae longplays, no one in the audience really cares about them reviewing the game mechanics, it's more about seeing them riff on the story MST3K style.
 
I know this will never happen, but seeing how the Oney guys probably dropped their lets play of this, I would love them just watching this video and reacting. Chris and Zach would be a must, but Tomar and Adam for chaos factor would be gold.

1. Making the main character a solipsistic 1/2 Black girl. I get the feeling the reason this game was such a trainwreck was because the Japs making it looked at American media and said, "Oh, so THAT'S what the Gaijin are into now: Third Wave feminism, interracial marriage and Diversity! Let's make sure we put lots of that into the game!" They also made the black girl a thief, which pissed off all of the Social Justice types, so really nobody was pleased.

2. Frey's enemies set her building on fire (a potential Class A-1 Felony which nets 25 years to Life if it kills someone) instead of stealing her open dufflebag full of money (a crime they were guaranteed to get away with since there was no way Frey was going to the police to report it.)

3. Frey has time to rescue both her duffelbag full of money AND her cat, but the Developers refuse to let her do it under player control. A way to fix this would have been for Frey's awakening and searching for her cat to occur during a cutscene, with control returned to the player only after Frey turns back and sees her bedroom has been cut off by fire.

4. The Game tries to have a street smart, irreverent main character with a stuffy British sidekick dynamic, but forgets that only works if the main character is likeable. Or mute. Frey acts like someone who is ten years younger than her age and she swears a lot, which is grating.

5. Forget the world of Athia being pointlessly diverse, did everyone in it have to be so butt-ugly? Everyone looked like they had chipmunk cheeks and all the women looked like they'd been beaten by the Mannish Stick. It's sad to see Japan following America's lead of "Let's make all of the women ugly to appeal to the feminists who don't play our game!"

6. No one in Isekai Land puts 2 and 2 together and thinks that Frey might be a tanta? Did they have any other magical using women in that world?

7. Frey tries to act like anyone could be special if they put their mind to it, but the only reason she's special is because she was born from a dimension-traveling wizard.

8. Did NO ONE tell Japan that white women who have one night stands with and get knocked up by black men who ghost them are considered trashy in the US? Being happy that a black man knocked you up and left you with a half breed is like being happy that you won a burro on the game show "Let's Make a Deal".

9. Why did Cinta yeet the baby like the Chinese peasant woman yeeting the Chosen One in Kung Pow: Enter the Fist?

9. Sussy-Demon's angel design was cool and it was too good for this turdfest of a game.

At least the costumes and buildings looked good, and I can enjoy IH's take on it.

Pretty much this? Amy Hennig of Legacy of Kain was involved as well (I swear that woman is cursed since she got kicked out of Naughty Dog by Cuckman, been unable to release any project...) as well as the Rogue One screen writer, though they both were only in the early concepts and most their ideas were chucked out a window. There are 2 other writers which I assumed did the bulk of it all and both are California fags so you can imagine the rest.

The nips did the code and gameplay, but the story, character design and all that was all Weimerica. Hopefully square learnt the fucking lesson after the gigantic bomb this piece of shit was and you never fucking trust a Califag with anything.

One funny thing about your 8th point is that the face model for Frey, Ella Balinska, is actually a WMBF child (White male, Black female). She's uglifyed on purpose as is modern western gaming tradition & flipped the races of her parents into BMWF (Black male, White female) for some sort of snowflake propaganda or some shit. Ironically, her parental flip matches her face in the game compared to the actual Ella Balinska.

Forspoken was made by western people. Amy Hennig did the worldbuilding then she left for Skydance. Gary Whitta (a very awful writer) and other people took over and probably rewrote it.

It's a japanese game in name only. The game checks all the [current year] western industry guidelines.
