Internet Historian Appreciation Thread - The best thing to come out of Austrailia since Mad Max (The original, obviously)

  • Happy Easter!
Guys I need to know I'm not having a Mandela Effect right? There's a part in Cost of Concordia where after he pulls the spaghetti out of the pot, the camera quickly rolls past his feet which were censored, but now that part seems to have been cut out completely.
Please tell me someone has a early archive so that I can prove I'm not off my meds.

It's in the Q&A video on the Incognito Mode channel, about 38 minutes in.

For all I know he could be the most left leaning pro gay marriage pro child SRS pro biden pro vax youtuber out there, but his content is good and he does a good enough job hidding his politics, and I can't really blame anyone for wanting their politics private for any reason, especially if they are this talented.
People have already shown proof he isn't, but if he was, you would already know about it since when you think you have the moral backing you just yap without a care expecting everyone to give you slaps in the ass.

And yeah, all of his collabprators are hillarious with IH but by themselves they kind of suck. Or at least what I saw when I gave them a chance.
IH finally uploaded a new video on the main channel.
The topic is honestly kind of random, but I laughed a lot. The Nord section was a good showing of the life cycle of streaming (calling for mods to stop nigger posting was gold) and I laughed out loud at the "two men ghosts wrestling" and the "ghost hole that pokes your eye out".

Also the tale of the deranged composer incel and his maid ploy or all the horrible theater misshaps. Was a super fun watch. I'd say he wins this round over John.

@Slav Power Believe me, I unsubbed from Ordinary Things after his 2021 wrap-up video which forced me to leave a dislike too. I think I made a comment about this in the thread about Youtubers we've ubsubbed from. Basically, his 2021 wrap-up video was him crying about muh January 6th, unironically siding with Reddit's /r/antiwork, referring to Joe Rogan as taking horse dewormer, focusing a whole segment on trashing Tim Pool's take on Squid Game (how in the hell was that newsworthy?), and then subtly attacking Kyle Rittenhouse. The guy is a full-on leftoid sperg who makes smug pseudo-intellectual content shit for beta soyboys.

As for IH's politics, I don't think I've ever seen him do anything that was even remotely leftist. In his Olympic torch video he mentions how controversial figures once held the torch, and he flashes an image of Trump with the Olympic torch -- but that's really about it (taking a jab at Orange Man =/= left wing). Everything else has been either centrist or right-leaning. Come on, who devotes so many videos on SJWs/pervs like that, and makes 4chan out to be the heroes each time? His bread & butter were the videos on DashCon, Rainfurrest, Pool's Closed, and HWNDU for crying out loud. I've seen leftoids tackle the same aforementioned subjects in videos, and they usually A) portray DashCon in a more sympathetic light ("they were just misunderstood kids!"), B) downplay the severity of Rainfurrest, C) condemn 4chan as being evil trolls for the Habbo Hotel and Shia LaBeuf trolling.

Let's not forget IH made a video about CNN's meme blackmail: shitlibs and leftoids sided with CNN on that one.

I too randomly fell over OrdinaryThings the other day and enjoyed many of his videos
And it seems that my skepticism was right. He is a Br*tish faggot who thinks he's qualified to give his political takes in his videos and that people want to hear them.

I was subbed to OrdinaryThings as an IH-adjacent creator for awhile.

Remember enjoying this video on the history of lawns.

Unsubbed about a year ago over cringe I can't recall.

I think the Varus and the Varus Strikes Back is a perfect window into his politics, he's pretty much the only non openly right wing person on youtube criticising the crime surge as covid was used as an excuse for justice reform and setting bail to zero and decriminalising shoplifting

Also let's not forget IH unapologetically did collaborations with Wendigoon and JonTron: the former is somewhat disliked among the woketards/Redditfags for being pro-gun and Christian, and the latter is straight up cancelled by the left. Hell, if you look at the comments section for IH's video with Jon, it's full of woke faggots saying negative things and proclaiming that they're unsubscribing for "platforming a Nazi".

EDIT: Also as @Korpon mentioned, his Berkeley Bike Lock guy video too. Every shitlib I've encountered defended the bike lock bandit, and was outraged at the people who tracked him down.

Maybe I'm overthinking it, but the 18:46 moment really felt like a George Floyd joke.

Also, he didn't show the real version of Mona Lisa that was recently recreated in Da Vinci's original vision.

In the wine video a lot of the comments are referencing hbomberguy's newest video on plagiarism. Apparently he accuses IH of plagiarizing a Mental Floss article for his cave video. I have not watch the video as it's four hours long and I've never cared for hbomberguy and I'm not willing to torture myself, so I don't know the specifics of the accusations. I did see that IH credited the Mental Floss article, I don't know if it's always been there or not. The comments also keep talking about Tommy Tallarico. I guess hbomberguy made another video about him? I don't know what he has to do with Internet Historian.

I can completely sympathize with not wanting to torture yourself with Harry's insufferably smug voice.

The accusation against IH is mercifully a relatively short part of the video, just under half an hour. To cut a long story short, the accusation of plagiarism is actually valid, as IH copied both the format (the hour by hour structure) and several passages from the article, with the words changed a bit, originally without crediting it in the video or the description. The website where the article was published filed a copyright claim and the video got taken down, and it got put back up a few months later with more words changed and with sources, including the article, credited in the video and description.

It's very much a hit piece, though, even if the accusation is valid. Harry deliberately makes out IH to be a right-wing extremist to rile up his own SJW followers, and portrays IH as deliberately trying to cover up his plagiarism (because he didn't specify why the video got copystriked), when it actuality it looks like he and the publisher of the article came to an agreement behind the scenes without the need for drama.

Tommy Tallarico has nothing to do with IH, he's the subject of Harry's previous video. It's just his fans being unfunny retards.
