From what I can tell (and I watched far more of this than I'd care to) it's not that "he plagiarized something" but rather all his work is utterly plagiarized root and branch from other people.

He's not just using rather too large a quote from someone else's work. His videos are ALL the work of other people. Literally, when he talks to camera, he's reading other people's work. Sometimes, he just steals other people's videos, leaves in their content (edited clips) chops out THEIR commentary, then films himself paraphrasing it.

It's systematic thieving and scumbaggery.

(Not sure what any of this has to do with Internet Historian. He's complaining about someone called James Somerton. Edit: OK, the IH stuff seems insignificant. He's mostly complaining about the arse bandit.)

The example used in the video was the DashCon video, where he was like "oh it's such a shame that he made fun of SJWs instead of talking about a 'really interesting bit of history'". I remember he also brought up a comment by some guy with an Enclave pfp taking about Jews with the implication it was a typical IH fan.

Like, he never explicitly says it, but the implication is clear. "He's not just a plagiarist, he's a heckin unwholesome chud!"

He's not. I haven't really seen anything to suggest he skews to either side, without concrete proof i'd say he's more of a centrist. What are you adding to this conversation? IH is stupid for not dumping the scripts he gets into a plagarism checker, but an article and a video as edited as one of his are not the same format. And this shit also happened several months ago and is just suddenly being dug out of the dirt by Hbomberguy because he thinks it'll help tear down someone he believes to be bad because politics. Him referencing IH being right leaning in the video is irrelevant to the argument of copying yet he knows it'll cause a bit more damage because of his rabid audience. Bomberguy still makes himself the lesser man in this situation. Especially if he didn't prove that there's been anything else that IH so blatantly grabbed from.

I like IH's vids and don't like HBQueers politics, but he 100% stole that guys article and tried to play it off as his own.
When he reuploaded the vide he "showed" the vid being copyright stuck, but edits out the part that says who and why it got stuck, and replaces it with just "This video is no longer available due to a copyright claim"
He never mentions or credits the original article in the original vid, but he quietly does in the new version and it's description.
In Bombers vid he shows a part where IH is reading the article, pauses and makes a side comment to make it sound like he's about to read a source he randomly found, and then continues to read the rest of the article where he left off (@ 1:33:30 in HB's vid)
The reason he never talked about it is cause he's been trying to make it blow over.

Wait a fucking minute, IH was already exposed for this. If you search for "cave man plagiarized" or similar you'll find some videos on it, and I'm pretty sure it was widely talked about on twitter, reddit and possibly here a bit as well though don't take my word for it.

He should have credited the guy from the start in the video itself, maybe something like "this incredible story is from this website from this writer, go read it and throw nickels at him"., but I don't think it would have mattered one way or another. You don't go to IH for his breaking original stories and on the ground research that nobody else has done before, you go for his unique style of presentation and his entertaining humor. I always assumed he gets all of that information from some wiki, article, book, etc, just like pretty much every other youtuber.

I doubt even 1% of the people who watched the video care enough about the story to actually read the article themselves. Here's how the article begins:

I'm genuinely curious how many people this type of romance-novel descriptions actually captivates.

The article was rewritten and re-ordered quite a bit, animations done, jokes, so there's a fair amount of work on it. There's an incredibly large number of youtubers who do nothing but read articles without even hiding it, making animations or bringing in any humor. If it's enough to pause every 10 seconds to say a couple words without even editing the original video for a reaction, then isn't this transformative enough to be fair use?

Hbomber makes it seem like IH was rubbing his hands like a fly siting there AH YES, I SHALL NOT CREDIT THIS MAN and then letting out cartoon villain laughters, but hear me out: what if whoever from his team edited, uploaded the video and/or did the description just fucked up and forgot to put the sources then IH decided to change things even more to avoid any drama or arguments with random journos/companies? Who wants to even be in the same room as a journalist?

I don't care about anything else in the video. If I hear hbomberguy's voice one more second I'll smash a screwdriver into my eardrums.
