A shame that there wasn't any voice actors like there was in previous videos. "The Gentleman Pirate" and "Man in Cave" were fantastic solely due to the voice acting from other content creators. Him being solo worked well in the "Cost of Concordia" due to it being an absolute shit show with an underlying interesting story.

The video was fine. The problem was that the subject was not juicy enough nor matched IH's style. I think if he had done this on a separate channel as a fully serious and dry video it would have worked much better.I think he just didn't have any other subject that was the right mix of safe, popular and enough time passed to allow data sufficient for a video to collect. Covid made the world boring and we're still recovering from that.
The Syrian guy that got stranded on the ship seems like a much more interesting story, between his life alone on the ship and the legal shenanigans he has to endure. This one didn't really have anything going for it other than the shit show on the bridge that caused the crash. They just kept doing the same thing over and over again to get it unstuck and the legal fallout from it wasn't that crazy.

IIRC he said before that he was going to shift focus towards shorter videos with a more frequent upload schedule, but then dropped the biggest video he's ever done.

I reckon what might have happened is that this video ended up being a lot more time consuming and bloated than they initially expected it to be, and that shows in the finished product.

It's was a thoroughly cromulent video, not bad at all, but it was a bit indulgent. They could have cut it down and probably got it under an hour if stayed focused on the story instead of adding more material to be funny with.

I feel like the Concordia video, by comparison, covered more of the event in less runtime and did a better job integrating the humor into that coverage.

I just want him to make a new video on some convention that failed. Those to me were the best videos, and there's quite a few that could be covered. TanaCon for example is something that i've been waiting for him to cover for years with how much of a shitshow it was.
It’s been said to death here, but Breadtubers are a massive circlejerk that protect their own until one commits wrongthink. Harry’s safe until he says something slightly against the leftist ideology. Then the skeletons will come out.
Well Harry is already starting to look unsafe with Breadtube due to him not making a Palestine video essay. His audience has been clamoring for him to do one since the conflict started and he has made no assurances that he's going to make one.

I think for an appreciation thread
the people who want to suck on HBomberguy's cock and other breadtubers who make content claiming IH is a Nazi because of his 420 weed joke being Hitler's birthday should fuck right off right back to r/InternetHistorianSnark
cos we all know these people who cant read a fucking title and cannot read the fucking room here to understand the nature of this specific thread are redditors.

Since identifying redditors & breadtube viewers are easy since they always exude the following
- Being a Contrarian
- Complete and blindly hate someone for any minor slight no matter how miniscule it is
- Inability to read the room and make it all about themselves and their opinions.

Good video, but does he have to make some of the annotations dark as shit? I can barely read them.
Not to mention that when you pause to read it this happens.

The new video feels like a project that he spent a lot of time on and midway through realized it's not even 10% as interesting as anyone thought it was, but by this point spent too much time on it so might as well finish.

It's informative but not entertaining. No one involved has any character like the Costa Concordia, and getting the ship unstuck was uneventful. The internet memeing it didn't age well or really amounted to anything besides pngs.

Honestly,
i appreciate the effort he and his team put in
but i also do agree the story was quite uninteresting that he had to embelish it alot. with alot of side stories that arent real.

Since I was following the news closely when it happened and am a bit of a nautical accident sperg, I found this video really entertaining. Admittedly being starved of IH content might be to blame, but I thoroughly enjoyed it.

It's not a video I see myself rewatching a bunch like I did with his Cost of Concordia and The Fall of 76 videos. I think it has a lot to do with the pacing. I've thoroughly enjoyed movies over two and a half hours long due to appropriate pacing and an engaging storyline. Those just feel lacking here.

The man kind of said it best himself
Feels like it was made out of obligation and ended up scope-crept
Then got revision after revision after revision until it was unilaterally decided that it wasn't worth the effort, and should just be published as-is so that the team could move on
I don't get why he added in all the really, really outdated memes though. Like, six years out of date during the video's events and 10 years out of date by now outdated. Was it supposed to be ironically funny? Same goes for the crab. I guess all the self-deprecation was also supposed to be funny, but it kind of came off as insecure when combined with the lacklustre quality of the video.

Might as well parrot the questionable pacing and lack of relation to the internet + generally boring subject matter complaints, I think those apply too. And the humor kind of falling flat for the most part. It's one mediocre video out of like 20+ great ones, nbd

This is your last chance.
After this, there is no turning back.
You take the fag pill - the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe.
You take the fun pill - you stay in Wonderland and I show you how deep the rabbit hole goes.

I've just noticed that IH shortened his 'Dub the Dew' by 20%, removing all references to 'Hitler did nothing wrong', which resulted in the video being a shell of its former self.

The ability to stealth edit a video on youtube while keeping the original release date and comments is one of the worst things to happen to the internet. I've seen videos, mostly music videos, get completely replaced while skinwalking with the original publishing date and comments. This shit shouldn't be allowed.
