I might be moving to Singapore. Any suggestions on how to make the transition from an internet perspective? I've heard they restrict sites and such.
VPN recommendations? Ways to stay anonymous? Anything they (Singaporean govt. or others) are notorious for/to look out for?
Takes a criminal to catch a criminal, so I thought I'd come here to ask.

If you're moving to Singapore, I really hope you're prepared for a police state culture. Singaporeans don't view laws like most westerners do. Here in the western world, if you get a speeding ticket most people will at worst be like "well that sucks, don't do it again dumbass." Singaporean culture however has almost no separation between moral rules, and legal rules. Half the Singaporeans I've talked to have a worldview somewhere between judge dread, and robocop. This has made their country very prosperous, but that doesn't mean everyone would be happy there.

Alright so I see the general consensus is that Singapore is a troll's paradise where cops encourage being prank'd with silly string.
The move would be temporary, about a year, maybe less, and would GREATLY benefit my career. I wanna make the most of it in the mean time, so this isn't some permanent sentence. Is it worth it lads? How can I minimize my chances at getting guillotined without putting my shitlord career on pause?

Act like a typical worker drone insect aka Asian. Do not question authority. Do not do anything someone might feel is out of the cultural norm. Work yourself until you are a miserable ball of stress. Make sure to post livestream links for all public punishments you get subjected to.

What's the social hierarchy like? Is anyone "above the law"? In those kinds of martial law states there are usually certain groups that get to step around all that bullshit, and thus should not be fucked with. Thoughts?

Major torrent and porn sites are blocked. The really well known ones. Whats blocked and what isn't boils down to a few bored employees who process complaints by a jaded middle aged Christian soccer mom so you can still skim by. It's not a big giant government filter with a dedicated task force to eradicating the naughty bits of the internet. Easily bypassed with any free VPN. Kiwifarms isn't blocked.

Feel free to talk shit about other races or religions but don't be stupid and post it from your social media where the locals will crucify you.

Just stay in line and don't be a typical loud obnoxious foreigner. Feel free to flex your expat status with the local bar sluts. Caning is reserved for convicted crimimals and nothing is public. The only thing that's "public" is a guaranteed smearing of your reputation if someone catches you doing something shit and posts it online.... which happens alot.
