Internet in Singapore - Privacy and Internet Freedom

I'll try give you a serious answer based on my limited experience with the culture. I don't know why everyone is being so negative. Singapore can be hugely fun for a limited time.

I'm assuming you're a white guy, so you're in for a mixed bag. Generally speaking, they treat whites really well there. They won't kiss your ass or anything, but generally speaking you'll be treated better than native Singaporeans and much better than the Filipinos. That said, you're still a foreigner and if you get caught up in the legal system, don't expect any mercy. You're a guest, so act like it. Also, learn some Chinese. It's not vital, but might be handy. Singaporeans are mostly Chinese and so their whole occupation with "face" is very important. Don't act like an idiot or embarrass yourself. That shit can have real consequences, even if it isn't immediately apparent.
No one stops working at 5, but they won't expect you to stay, because you're white (and therefore kinda lazy). It might be a good idea to stay a little later anyway though, just for appearances. That said, long lunches and late mornings are completely acceptable. Rock up at 10am then go for a 2 hour lunch? No worries. Go home at 5pm? Shamfur dispray.
I don't recall any censorship issues but I wasn't torrenting porn while I was there either so... Any VPN should be fine though.
There's quite a few expat areas in Singapore so finding other white people won't be too hard. Any other questions I'll do my best to answer.
