Post something you fondly remember from the earlier days of the t'internet. The 90s and early 2000s.

I'll start. Madblast and rotten dot com. Both long defunct I think.

My brother and I used to download this spyware garbage and type in cuss words for him to repeat. Stepdad would get pissed and rightfully so also not doing the "memba" thing, sorry.

My early internet experience was around 2008 and 2009 where I would watch Lego stopmotion videos on Youtube like this. My internet was so shit I would have to wait about 20 to 30 mins for the video to load.

There's a site called www.nes-snes-sprites.com. It's still up and running but in a much lesser state. Years ago it not only had sprites from a huge catalogue of NES and SNES games but it had their full soundtracks. Nintendo did their big copywrite sweep that wiped out almost all public nintendo rom sites and it took them down too. You can still get sprites there but I miss finding new and catchy 8 bit music.
There was also a site called MOAR.org or something like that. It was just thousands of single pages of webms. It changed ownership and it's name and was never the same after that. I don't even think there's anything left of the site. It was way before I even thought about saving any of them, back when I thought the internet was truly forever.

2000-2009: Spending hours gaming -- later mostly World of Warcraft, after it came out in 2004 -- and chatting with close friends. We had a private IRC server for nearly a decade, and I'm glad the logs have been lost to time; they would have literally gotten us hanged, drawn, and quartered now. Most of the guys moved on -- started businesses, got married, died, or logged off and were never heard from again -- but those were good times, maybe the best of my online life.

Legacy nazi websites, back when it still was all about Hitler and dead niggers. Before everything got sanitized with god emperor trump, "fashwave", kaczynski/mishima/evola memes, boomer conservativsm repackaged into stonetoss webcomics, incessant 24/7 whining about Clown World™️ and Wokism™️ and the zerohedge brand of doomer collapse porn. Online right wing was much better when it was just about liking Hitler and hating niggers

AOL chatrooms were essentially unmodded in the early days. In the jokes chatroom the main topic for jokes was niggers.

Early AOL had an orange haired chick Connie who promised good times for 1p a minute. What a whore.

There used to be this site called 2am games in the 90s with a bunch of early multiplayer games. However the one most people wanted to play was Chain of Command a ww2 RTS where you commanded a squad of German or American soldiers.

ED before it went to shit was fun. Finding cool flash games on various websites was cool, even sexting in MaidMarion/Sherwood Forest MMO/RPG chat had a certain charm.
