I think I get it. The first one is about people coming up with a billion different words to refer to the same thing, creating the illusion of culture and the second one is how shysters invent and use thought-terminating buzzwords to more easily manipulate the average joe.

There's a lot of it on Facebook and Instagram. An older man in my family sits there watching it for hours, a lot of it's that Indian slop where they take a video and put a repeating laughter loop in the background while having some overlay on top of it promoting the page. He literally watches them for hours, while having Netflix slop on in the background.

That doesn't change the fact that the usage online in recent years isa blatant algo-friendly-ified goyslop. Please do not pull reddit tactics like this everyone knows what the word slop means. It's a specific kind and intensity that's the key here.

Came across this video a few months ago and it is garbage slop incarnate, a 9 hour video about "unsolved mysteries" filled with poorly researched topics, terrible script and the narrator constantly repeating sentences because he couldn't be arsed to re-record his lines or even edit them.
This whole channel is just a barrage of poorly made 30+ minute videos.

I hate how the lowest common denominating content is the one that is somehow most appealing to people. How can anyone watch this shit? It's just a guy with no personality saying the most socially acceptable opinions in a bored, monotone voice about shit no one cares about. The worst part about this is the various channels that have spawned up with this same exact style of content (Talking about dumb, boring shit; Mostly internet "drama") because they saw that they can get easy views. This "content" is a cancer on YouTube.

Cr1tikal tends to get away with it since he's an old-timer, his old content could be quite good despite being low-effort. Since he would upload sporadically, it made his content even more appreciated since he'd often go for months without saying anything. I saw someone on /v/ say that it was when he started his podcast with his friends that he started on this regular slop content and apparently one of them would insist he should use his channel for more than just funny content.

I'd say goyslop and slop in the modern definition have two different meanings, which are pretty concrete.

Goyslop is more a food/nutrition term for anything made by large industries that have a negate effect on your mental/physical fitness. An example being fast food like McDonalds, which is by design made to make you fatter and less healthy, and to also addict you to the product. It can apply to things like Marvel Movies, but that's because those have become so formulaic that comparing them to something like fast food isn't that far off.

Slop (regular) has a different definition. It's any product where there is no unique quality or experience compared to consuming content that is comparable. Like a pig's feed tray, where everything is ground up into a sludge that contains no unique flavors. Thing is, slop =/= quality level. A movie like the room cannot be slop, because nothing on earth can provide a similar experience to watching it. At the same time lethal company and it's copycats are slop, because there is no noticable difference between playing content warning instead of playing headliners. You are getting the same experience regardless, even if these are games that show competency in how they are designed and built.
