Hey Sonichu fans. Over in the Chris Forum we are discussing how Chris perceives God, and I posted this image from his comic:
I need a canon expert to please help answer my query:
I don't really know what's going on in the heart there. Why are there two Ivys and two Chris'? And why is one bare chested (OH COME ON, DUDE! WEAR A BRA FOR GOD SAKES!) waving his shirt as a flag?
1- The picture in the background was a picture Chris did for Ivy.
2- The Chris and Ivy in the forefront are the ones getting the message from God and Jesus about them being in love.
3- I never noticed but the Chris and Ivy in the front have shadows. Huh.
I've always been bothered by those shadows and I wondered how they got there. Did he actually layer them in there and add a drop shadow? Hmm. I think that might be above Chris' level of photoshop.

The bottom of the heart also has a shadow. Even though Chris is terrible at art, I think even he knows that he needed something to seperate the two images. I'm not sure on how much Chris knows about photoshop though.
It looks like there are three pieces of paper that have been scanned together. The picture in the back, the message, and a cut-out of Chris and Ivy holding hands.

But, why did Chris combine the two pictures of him and Ivy, and the one of them about to hold hands, in the same place, when it results in duplicates of both Chris and Ivy?
I think the picture of flag-waving Chris with Ivy is supposed to be the vision of the future that God and Jesus are showing to the Chris and Ivy in the foreground.

It looks too professional to be him though. Part of me wants to say it is some sort of photoshop tool that does it automatically. Then I wonder if he even knows how to use photoshop.
It almost reminds me of certain types of Eastern Orthodox icons. They share a similar flat perspective. Also, there is the Hagiography of the heavenly host bestowing its favor and blessing on the sainted couple. Full Size
