I guess I would really be "interducing" myself rather than introducing.
Anyways, hello. I originally discovered the site after the Christchurch mosque shooting (in 2019) after attempting to find footage of the shooting itself in the wake of seeing the footage being scrubbed/censored from various sites after the incident. Having been referred/linked to the site as it hosted a torrent to the video, I visited KF and I lurked here for a short time; I came back for enough time to see the New Zealand govt. ask to take down the torrent against Null's defiance until I tapered off for some time. I then really started browsing more in and after 2020 until Keffals and then DKF began increasing the activity on here in 2022. I think the events of Spring 2022 really prompted me to register to the forum and, if I recall the timeline right, I registered just before Null closed registrations for some time. With DKF, I remained captivated with its struggle.
Before joining, I did have some interest in some specific communities (and community/social behavior in general) and a few cows, including CWC; however, I was mainly interested in the forum since it seemed to be lax yet diverse, thriving, and constructive in parts and because I had typically used and been attracted to other forums/forum-likes in the past, as opposed to most social media except for Reddit for a few years. After my Reddit era, circa 2016-2018/19, I left it with a bad aftertaste to particularly look for a site which didn't have strong moderation/cultivation and groupthink while allowing (offensively) funny and creative people and content. With all the things I wanted, this was [the] one.
Even having this account here, I typically read and lurk more than I write and post, at least when it comes to the threads in the main lolcow (sub)forums. I typically undervalue my experience and ability to meaningfully contribute, but when I do post, I tend to write pragmatically, accurately, and verbosely/paragraphically as you can see already. Aside from having been sharing my music taste, I've yet to engage more people in different areas and I want to interact a bit more. I think you all may see me start to post more in the off-topic forums, particularly in the Arts, I&T threads, where I look forward to sharing some artwork, as average as it may be, as well as potentially contributing to other discussion pertaining to modern Linux/Unix and software in general in their respective threads.
