Is affirmative action really that bad? - Here is how affirmative action benefits our meritocracy

Affirmative action helps nobody. Not to mention it's a total violation of civil rights law.

No. I don't care what race my doctor is as long as he or she is qualified so I don't fucking die for 'equity'. The reason you would have misgivings about a black or woman in some profession these days is because of affirmative action. If you have affirmative action specifically for white guys I'm gonna start thinking any white guy has a greater chance of being incompetent.

If I am convinced there is no affirmative action and we lived in a pure meritocracy (if only) I would have no preconceived bias. If I know only .5% of blacks in such a system are qualified and my doctor is black I'm just gonna think he is either exceptionally talented or hard working. All the problems that come with racial domination of a field are perpetuated by affirmative action as well, and fixed by meritocracy.

Affirmative action holds society back in any form, it's that simple. Life would be better for everyone in all facets if the most qualified person for the job, whatever that job may be, was the one to get that job.

Imagine a white or black doctor not able to move up because he doesn't go to all the bar mitzvahs like the Jewish doctors do.
Then the solution isn't Affirmative Action, it's rooting out corruption.

I want the most skilled and ethical doctors only, not more niggers because Jews have a stranglehold, which doesn't solve the problem but actually exacerbates it, because now we have a bunch of jews AND niggers who shouldn't be doctors, all because a hypothetical nigger was held down. Sure, maybe now he got what he deserved, but the collateral damage is 10 more Jamals are doctors who shouldn't be. Shitty trade.

For important jobs we must have a strict, functioning meritocracy only. For less important jobs we can have discrimination though (which is all AA is), white favoritism is good and necessary. Whites should have any basic ass job they want handed to them on a silver platter. You want to work an office job? You get first dibs, let niggers and spics dig ditches.

Lemme flip this around: how would it feel to go through your entire life thinking you were given everything in life because people thought you were too fucking stupid to make it on your own? You didn't actually earn your degree and only got it because a bunch of professors had white guilt and were afraid of being called racist. You didn't earn your position at a job, it was given to you because it makes the company look good. If that's the kind of life you wanna live, fine. Glad you're fine with being a piece of shit.

Just because a lot of traditional antisemitism is wrong doesn't mean there isn't a problem with the ratio of Jews and Asians in important fields like medicine and engineering. Why do you think circumcision is still pushed hard these days? Yeah, it's the Jewish doctors who promote it. That's an example of how one race's dominance of a field leads to worse outcomes for everyone else. Also Chinese and Indian engineers in the US, even US-born ones, have been caught with sketchy links to their home countries.

Enjoy all your engineers being Chinese or Jeets and your doctors and legal system being Jews. Taking a slight hit to merit to ensure fairness for all races (based on biology, not muh feelz like leftist affirmative action) is good.
I have enjoyed reading your well thought out posts. It's refreshing to see a unique take on this topic. Specifically you point out the benefit to other groups of uplifting others. And you mentioned the lack of diversity in upper eschelons as being concerning.

But I still disagree entirely. You didn't make it clear who is doing the enforcement, is this just corporations voluntarily doing it or government compulsion?

If the later, I disagree with the ethics of most forms of government meddling in commerce, it infringes on the rights of property owners to manage their affairs how they see fit. Also top-down initiatives like this never work out how you expect and has unintentional secondary consequences.

Now if it's completely voluntary, I still disagree, although less fervently. I don't think discrimination based on race is ever the right call. You should be able to isolate the real traits you're concerned with and screen for those.

You should be able to isolate the real traits you're concerned with and screen for those.
Okay, sure, but many people tend to have trouble accepting even the possibility the traits you're concerned with are not equally distributed in the population with regards to race (or sex).

You get pushback on this even when dealing with unambiguously measurable characteristics like size, strength, or stamina. The amount of force required to control a fire hose, breach a door, drag/carry an unconscious person, etc. is the same whether the firefighter doing them is male or female, so it is unremarkably reasonable to expect more males to be better suited to the job than females... and yet you still see people whining that there should be more female firefighters. Including to the point of baldly insisting more-qualified men should be denied the jobs and they should instead be given to less-qualified women.

And, again, that's for physical "real traits" that can be tangibly unambiguously measured and compared. You start talking about filtering applicants using cognitive or personality "real traits" and it's an article of faith that if your measuring stick finds there are differences between racial groups then your measuring stick be racis' an' sheeit.

Or the differences are a result of purely socioeconomic factors... which, yeah, okay, even if this applicant is unqualified and unsuited for the position because they grew up in a black neighborhood, not because they themselves are black, they are still unqualified and unsuited for the position. That in some hypothetical alternate reality, where they were socialized differently, they could or would have been qualified and suitable does not change that the actual applicant before us for consideration is not.

That's what I was thinking.

Imagine being black and genuinely being smart, competent, and likeable, and then having all that ignored because they just saw your skin color.

The Jewish IQ is overstated. They tested Israel's average iq and it's 92. Jews taking up 14% of doctors and 29% of psychiatrists is simply explained their pathological urge to attain authority so they can influence society for their benefit, not any sort of merit they have.

The top black guy I ever worked with, he went to an Ivy League school. He was a very high up senior engineer. He had a salary of hundreds of thousands of dollars, probably. Even he, at work, I saw him threatening people with violence during work functions. And I don't mean regular meetings. I'm talking about the times when everybody in the office is having cake, for example.
Holy smokes. That must have been interesting.
That MAOA gene is supposedly (more ) prevalent in black males.
IIRC, black females commit more violence than white males!
Doesn't surprise me too much, esp when you see hulking shemales like Serena Williams.

Affirmative action is bullshit.

It's the underlying cause that needs to be addressed, but nobody - on the left anyway - wants to do that, because, in America at least, it involves talking about black culture, single parent families etc.

Here on Terf Island, for many years now, boys from white working class families do worst when it comes to education. Boys from black working class families are 40% more likely to go into higher education than their white counterparts. But, because no politician wants to say "we need to help the whites!", nobody cares, and the issue continues to get worse. But again, we need to look at the underlying cause of why this has happened, rather than saying "OK, let's just lower standards for these white kids" (even though that would obviously never happen).
