Does chris really hate people?, I read somewhere on the cwciki article about his ego that said he had some misanthropic tendencies or was the type of misanthrope who only tolerated certain people of certain qualities and Im if he is.

Do you think his paranoia over trolls and other imaginary threats enforce it?

I don't think Chris has misanthropic tendencies, he actively pursues positive feedback where ever he believes he can find it, if he was a true misanthrope he wouldn't seek this validation.

Chris's universe of people is almost entirely made up of trolls who want to dissect his psyche under a microscope, and local people who disdainfully tolerate him at best. I wouldn't be surprised at all if he was kind of soured on people.

he wants love and affirmation. he's just socially retarded

While Chris is now constantly suspicious of people he perceives as trolls, he still wants to have friends and a Ground-Up Heartsweet. If he were truly a misanthrope, he wouldn't spend his time posting on facebook about how lonely he is.

Not necessarily true.

He hates p-p-p-p-p-pickles, but if he were starving he would eat one if there was nothing else.

Likewise he could truly hate most people, but still have an over-powering biological/psychological need to socialize.

Same reason that men can be misogynous as hell and still want a woman.

But on the other hand... he doesn't want people to be who they really are. He rejects peoples' true selves. He wants those things on his ridiculous fantasy terms. He expects people to become whatever he wants to identify them as, and goes so far as to shovel blame on them when they don't do so.

But that still means he wants people to some degree. I wouldn't say he's a misanthrope, he's just deeply selfish

Clearly, we need to throw chris into the tv.

No, yeah, Since he can never admit to fault, he just has to push blame onto other people, and since he is constantly at fault for things due to his terribleness, he constantly has to make the rest of us look bad in his eyes.

He's more of a spoiled child than a misanthrope. If he says he hates people, he's just throwing a tantrum. He'd change his tune in a second if those people showered him with praise.

Eh, Chris hates trolls, not really people. When you cross Chris, you become a troll. That's pretty much it.

Chris doesn't have the strength to admit "this is me", or that what he's doing is even wrong. (I haven't played the Persona games.)

I guess that sums some of it.

But what about barb's influnce on him?; Since I remember some forum users have said something long ago that barb has tried to tell or teach him to believe people were evil or if they didn't accept him they were considered bullies.

Uhh, not that I recall. Maybe the bully part, but in that case, to Chris, bully's just another word for troll. My memory's shit though, maybe when the cwcki comes back up you can find a source.

This implies Barb or Bob have tried teaching him anything substantial.

I think you may be referring to Chris's dependence on grade-school counselor's psychology, namely the theory that bullies pick on you to compensate for their shortcomings.
