Is Chris a visual learner?

The Facebook photo rating topic seems to indicate that the graph had an effect on him. Well, about as much of an effect as one could get. I was wondering if there have been any other attempts to explore this further, like has anyone tried putting together a graph to illustrate certain realities of his situation? If I am on the wrong track, then what learning style seems to be the most effective for Chris?

Also, I apologize in advance if this question has been asked before and I missed it. I kind of only recently discovered these forums.

I think this is the most succinct, accurate description of him that I've ever read. He understands cause and effect on a very basic level, but is incapable of any abstract reasoning above and beyond that.

However, he's demonstrated a few times where he was able to logically string cause and effect together. Even if it's elementary, he was able to do so to the point he was able to play several different trading card games. Several of the trophies he's earned on PSN required some fundamental problem solving, beyond just repetition.

As such, I suspect he's not entirely lacking in capability. No doubt, what capability is there is stunted by Autism and lack of real world experience... However, I wonder if his unwillingness to apply objective thinking is the more-limiting factor (excluding external factors like Barb). I mean, look at how many things he's closed his mind to, including things he unconsciously admitted he was wrong about (Autism tutorial about Aspergers). There are a number of times where his obstinance seems to overshadow how incredibly stupid or naive he is. Even if it isn't the biggest factor, it seems like one more powerful element in the perfect storm of failure surrounding Chris.

Well, I don't think he's completely hiding from things. I do think he's pretty dumb. Not drooling retard dumb, but definitely stupid. Within normal ranges, I'd say. (unless autism affects your IQ, maybe that'd drop him below normal levels? I don't know)

I think because he's dumb, he has the capability to apply logic. Just, instead of it happening naturally, Chris has to sit down and put effort into it. He could, theoretically, come to the same conclusions we all do, it would just take him longer. And because in some situations, he doesn't like the potential conclusion that could come out, or he dislikes the person arguing the conclusion, he doesn't bother to try to investigate.

And I don't think that this emotion is really a big thing with Chris. Everyone has those same kind of feelings. We all aren't fans of being criticized. But the difference is that a normal person will see the critique and think something like "oh, as hard as that is to admit, they're right." Where as Chris has to really investigate it to realize they're right. When he refuses to consider it, he doesn't yet know their critique is right. He's being a tard, but it's a bit more reasonable than just ignoring all criticism outright.

And I don't think that this emotion is really a big thing with Chris. Everyone has those same kind of feelings. We all aren't fans of being criticized. But the difference is that a normal person will see the critique and think something like "oh, as hard as that is to admit, they're right." Where as Chris has to really investigate it to realize they're right. When he refuses to consider it, he doesn't yet know their critique is right. He's being a tard, but it's a bit more reasonable than just ignoring all criticism outright.

Even ignoring outside conflict, most of us have an objective internal voice that will question the things we do or think. I'd love to be able to find out how that works in Chris... Maybe it's there, and Chris is really good at ignoring it. Maybe it's there, but is always wrong. Maybe it's not there at all. From the years of Chris behavior we've seen, I think there's enough diversity in his actions to suggest he has something going on up in his skull, and some other element(s) is affecting the results. Folks who are entirely missing such capabilities often display more behavioral problems (usually violence), are even more dysfunctional (can't walk, talk, etc.), or have much more rigid routines.
