Is Chris done?

Well, the people he's definitively alienated are few in number, but that's only because he just doesn't interact with people in the first place. I think it would be accurate to say he has passively alienated society itself, and individual relationships with him don't form as a corollary of that.

Well yeah, he didn't have many people to socialize with in the first place. But I don't know if I'd necessarily agree with that he doesn't have friends because he is alienating everyone. Or, rather, it could be that way, but Chris hasn't even reached that point yet.

Chris doesn't have many social contacts because he's too much of a pussy to walk up to people and say hi. Now, in some magical world where Chris wasn't a pussy, yeah, he'd probably scare people away. We're not at that point yet. Also we're still waiting for Santa to bring Chris his girlfriend.

I don't know. I don't really believe in the stereotypical idea of the subconscious. I don't know what actual shrinks say about it though. I just think he's a pussy.

He did socialize at madicon, kinda. But from what I could see, it looked like he was in his ideal situation. He could sit back and let other people do all the hard work.

One thing that I've wondered is that the internet gives huge opportunities for social outcasts like Chris to socialize anonymously and/or find social groups that share their interests, no matter how obscure. Surely this is a valid option for Chris? Nobody needs to know who he is, as long as he doesn't openly announce his identity.

Is it a case of his paranoia being so bad that he just assumes that everybody's going to know who he is? I know he's clumsily posed as somebody else in forums before, but they were cases of him literally entering the lions den.

Well, his goals are incompatible with anonymity. He's trying to find his future girlfriend and people to play legos and card games and other stuff with. I guess some of the card games could come to ps3 and he could play those anonymously with other people.

And actually, now that I think about it, Chris has played some games online anonymously without people finding out who he was. He doesn't do it often though. I don't think he cares that much about online multiplayer.

Yeah, usually people don't notice their own BO unless someone tells them. It wouldn't be any different with Chris.

Yeah, I know. But (at least I thought) you were saying that he was trying to alienate himself and I'm saying he doesn't know that he's alienating potential friends (or girlfriends, for that matter).

Chris not noticing his own god-awful BO wouldn't surprise me. The smell of Barb's hoarded trash might have desensitized his nose to the point of making him immune to the smell of rotten watermelons sprayed over with Axe 24/7, plus the obvious
