I'm pretty sure I could go into any library and find a few more books about Jesus, Hitler, Buddha, or the Beatles than Chris.

As far as Internet lolcows go yes. What's ironic is maybe a century from now when the Internet is just common knowledge for everyone, and scrolling has its own history he will be considered The original pioneer of being a lolcow. If for some stupid reason they give education as far as using the Internet and its history, they will probably give kids instructions on how not to respond to trolls, and the biggest prime example will be the big CWC as a prime example of what not to be when using the Internet. Shit, I wouldn't be surprised if a decade from now Chris's used in a college research paper Documenting his life and failures.

Not the most documented person in the world. But in the Internet? Maybe. He is the pioneering of lolcowlism, so there's that.

No and it isn't even close. Abraham Lincoln, for example, has had somewhere close to 3,000 books published about him. And that number grows every year. The only other President even approaching that number is George Washington who is around 1,500, give or take.

Chris is probably the most documented person with no renown who has ever made a fool of himself over the Internet and I guess that's kind of an accomplishment? That said, in an age where people are increasingly connected to the Internet and seemingly losing their ability to distinguish how much information is too much, he might not keep that distinction for long.

Those books aren't all new documentation though. They're analysis, retelling from different perspectives, etc. And I guarantee no book about Lincoln will have a list of every person Honest Abe ever talked to, a transcript of every conversation he ever had, a list of every place he ever shopped, etc. For a normal person, the very idea of something like that is nonsensical. For Chris... well, the CWCki obviously doesn't have 100% of it either and never will, but it's a lot closer than it would be for most people.

I think stuff like this developed with the internet. Like, weirdo nerds have existed forever, but the range of interests wasn't always as granular as they are now. You might find an occasional nerd with a weird interest, but there'll be just one or two (but usually zero) of them with that interest. You might've lived your whole life without ever meeting your fellow nerds. Nowadays, no matter what shit you're into, you can always find a big social group of people who are also into it.

:geek: : You're into Naughty Abe Lincoln porn?
*yawn* : Totally! But I'm only into Abe Lincoln without his beard...
:geek: : Oh... that's a different board... this is only for beardo-lincoln-lovers...

Think about someone like Michael Jackson, not only were there reporters following his every move, but shitloads of fan web pages, forums and blogs done by people who obsessed over him. That's just one example. What's different is that it's usually fans who get that obsessed, not people who just think "damn, that guy is weird", but even that happens (I could probably use MJ as an example for this too).

That said, Chris' life is well documented, and he is the world champion lolcow.

I don't think Chris has the most documentation. But I think he has the greatest percentage of his life documented because he is so predictable and simple minded. Tons of famous historians had private thoughts and opinions we will never know, but I think we've figured out everything about Chris. Everything can be up for debate, but I think a lot of things are set in stone with him.

NO but he certainly is quite an internet phenomenon, I don't think a autistic man child would have become so famous for drawing a shitty comic in any other era than this internet age.

Not many unremarkable people like Chris has wiki devoted to them but a lot of famous and important people have most of their lives recorded.

People have always been fascinated by complete failures, though. Back in the early 20th century, Amanda McKittrick Ros had a fan/trollbase that even Chris's can't rival. Even Mark Twain was part of it. I think the only real difference the internet makes is that it's easier to keep things extant.

Casey Serin has a wikipedia page, a wiki, and active forums dedicated to him. He's at least as well documented as OPL.

My car was rear-ended while he was in the passenger seat as I was trying to take him to the bus station. This is true.

A very well documented Civilian atleast. If there is anything civil about Chris, he does RARELY go out in murderous rampages with his car, that is always a plus.

For comparison: Arguably one of the "most documented human beings" was Robert Shields, who slept 2 hours a day and wrote diary entries every 5 minutes. Including a whole lot of pondering about body temperature and ruminations on the quality of poo, because if you write a diary every 5 minutes, you probably don't get to do much more productive work.

And Chris's documented existence probably doesn't rise too much above that anyway. Hmmm...

I didn't know you were a DAMN SMOKER! Was the person who rear-ended you trying to solve a math problem in their head?

I think what it comes down to is "Most documented lolcow or ordinary person on the internet". Those other people that posters have mentioned are historical figure that are not just on the net, but in books and on TV. If you asked who the most documented lolcow on the internet is...then it would be hands down Chris.
